Trftoy, I did send $44 by Paypal and just emailed you some info. If you are going to get more, you may hang onto it. My latches haven't broken and I have never even had the side windows open in back. I wish I was still in the engineering business because I'd like to see whether we could get latches investment cast in a higher volume. I'm sure with the lower cost Chinese vendors, tooling costs must have come down over the years

Hey moderators - what is the chance of making this a sticky or a group buy thing in order to generate 50 takers?

DITBOY #4 (I think). I've busted both of mine, replaced one, getting ready to replace another...and I'm sure they'll break again.

That has to be the worse idea. This is why our economy is in the toliet. Just send it to china and save a buck eh? I worked for a machine shop that you all probably know, Trenz manufacturing . We made billet grills and other crap. Anyway, we got bought out by Lund and they had this great idea of hiring an engineer to "help create a better work flow and efficiency". Well his idea was to start sending our grill designs out to China to be mass produced. WRONG idea. Out of the 5 pallets of grills 3-4 of them went back. They were all junk. Powder coating flaking, bent bars, etc. Well 6 months of this goes on and and now no more Trenz. Sad, i know, but that just goes to show the type of quality you get.

I dont know about you others, but only American parts on my American TUNDRA. Yea they might be 10 bucks more a set but were helping keep our economy strong and have a well machined, best fitting product.

Sorry for the novel.

Josh

Well stated Josh!
I go out of my way to avoid Chinese goods whatever the product may be.

Personal testimonial: I bought a set of Josh's latches out of the first production batch. The craftsmanship is outstanding and they work as advertised. It had to be a very involved project and thanks again Josh for all your hard work.

I'm sorry if anyone was upset by my comment about Made in China. It took me 40 years after WW2 before I ever bought a Japanese Auto. I guess no one cares unless it affects us personally.

I thought of this while at Banana Boat tonight. I wish i had the resources to make QUALITY parts to replace the most common defects found on vehicles - or for that matter anything. I bet there would be a market for premium products to replace sub-standard OEM parts.

Am I thinking clearly? {I have had a few Kaliks}
