I have the 2000 Tundra and mine didn't break yet. Is it possible that the 2000 were made of metal?
I want a set because my windows do not have a tight seal. Consequently I get a windy sound at higher speeds.

Not made of metal. None were. 00-06 are all plastic. If there isn't a tight seal its because your OEM hinges are warped or flexing.
