No, it is a piggy back system that is undetectable by dealers. it can easily be removed since there is a harness for it. The dealer will never know.

NOLA 1906 even though i already have the UNICHIP for my 2005 VVTI v8 4.7l iforce tundra.
and my UNICHIP pnp display module,is already installed.

if UNICHIP is now going to disable the speed limitor, and that is a fact!
just count me in, i'll just buy another, if and only if , this new UNICHIP module has the feature of the speed limitor disabled.
YEPPIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the best new's i've heard so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi, if anyone from gen1 has a 2005 or 2006 and you buy the UNICHIP,
i will help guide you with the install.
just make sure you have it mapped correctly for your mod's.
i.e. volant cold air intake is the ONLY cai unichip has a map for, what i mean by that is K & N for these years will not work.
but a drop in filter will work, and a total stock air box will also work.
headers are for all type's, cat back exhaust is for all type's of exhaust's.

since i did mine myself.
i can and will help each and everyone of you, with a 2005 and 2006.

the plug's and sockets are specific to each socket so you can not make a mistake, by putting the wrong plug in a different socket.

Ok, this sounds a little complicated, I am new to chips (will be my first) so help me out a little bit. Using your example, a k&n intake is not compatible with the chip? what happens if I had the k&n and not the volant? Would the chip still work? Sorry for the idiot questions guys!

Where is a list of their tuning stations? I looked on their website and could not find any locations.

The Unicchip has the ability to remove the speed limiter, but they haven't done so yet. They said if there is enough interest they will.

I don't know what happened with the dyno chart, but I'll just post a link back to the original thread.

The mpg gains haven't been completely verified, but I would expect a 2-3 mpg increase minimum. PullThis can verify his increase.

I'm waiting on the list of cai's and cb exhausts that they have tuned for.

As far as tuning stations, if you go to their website and select the Tundra 5.7 tuner, there will be a button for a dealer locator. it will give you a list of tuners in your state. There may not be any close to you unfortunately. My closest tuner is an hour and a half drive away.

Okay, to those waiting on other options, what specific features are you seeking? If its speed limiter or shift points or whatever, just list them so that i can give feedback to Unichip so that they know many want those features. thanks.

I'm waiting on that answer as well as a few others. I think i've relayed all questions that have been posed so far and I'm just waiting to hear back from him. My contact is the regional sales manager, and he was flying to Cali the last time we spoke. So it may be a day or so before he responds, but as soon as he does, so will I. Thanks.
