thats what i'm waiting for, and believe me , i will call jack to confirm.
since i don't need 2 of the same.
than i will have it custom tuned. and i'm sure i will reach 350HP. :-)
not bad for a gasoline module/chip.

I just got an email from Mike from Jack. They are working to remove the speed limiter. They didn't realize how fast we Tundra owners really want to go. If we hit 50, Mike has said that they will remove the speed limiter and update our tuners. All members of the group buy will be taken care of. They won't stop working on maps, they will continue to tweak them as they discover more about the tundra leading up to the release of the Flux system for our trucks.
Mike,
… just let them know that we’ll look at the road speed if the GB comes together. We understand it’s desired and will work on it.
Cheers,
Jack

Re: Proposed Group Buy: Unichip P&P Tuner For 07+ Tundra & All Toyo Trucks & Suvs
hi everyone, please don't take offense, but i just emailed unichip as to this group buy. and i did ask a simple question.
they know who i am, & my specific truck.
i have worked with them before, on my project truck.
with that said,
i asked, with the new group buy from tundra solutions are you going to have the feature of the speed or road limitor disabled on the new UNICHIP unit's in the group buy from tundra solutions?
well since i just asked about 1 minute ago, i fugure it might take a few days to confirm this. please be patient, i will post results of there email, as soon as they come to me.

That's fine with me Gorilla. The more people ask, the more they'll realize that it's what owners want. I've been told by Mike and Jack that they are working on it. Maybe we can help them speed it up. The speed limiter is just one of many features that this unit is capable of.

Re: Proposed Group Buy: Unichip P&P Tuner For 07+ Tundra & All Toyo Trucks & Suvs
hi ,i just recieced a email from jack.
UNICHIP are working very hard on removing the road limitor.
they know how important it is to many of us.
they know i am highly interested in this unit.
when they get this issue resolved they will contact.

gorilla
Re: Proposed Group Buy: Unichip P&P Tuner For 07+ Tundra & All Toyo Trucks & Suvs
NOLA, can you ask about the effect on the Unichip with the add-ons of Perma-Cool electric fans and an ASP underdrive pulley? Will the loss of weight on the crank and the increase in crank speed cause a reaction of the ecu and unichip to cease functioning in harmony?

Re: Proposed Group Buy: Unichip P&P Tuner For 07+ Tundra & All Toyo Trucks & Suvs
look on unichips web site for dealers. online or local, input USA, and seach.
i didn't see new england.
but i counted 51 area's.
plug in the info , & it sould give a complete listing.
good luck, hopefully you can find someone close enough.
anyway, i didn't custom tune mine and it gave me 26HP. right out the box.
this time, if they do indeed remove the limitor i will spend a extra amount whatever it will be to have it custom tuned.
the only issue for a custom tune is you need a authorized unichip shop with a dyno.
but it isn't neccessary. they(UNICHIP) does a good enough job.
but i want it to be all it could be.
wishing and hoping,
gorilla
Re: Proposed Group Buy: Unichip P&P Tuner For 07+ Tundra & All Toyo Trucks & Suvs
Unichip says They are utterly undetectable, and I was wondering (out loud in a public forum sort of way) if that was strictly true.
My ? was would there would be a record of the rev limiter or road speed being being greatly exceeded in the electronic memory of ether the black box or ecu, thus leaving a footprint?
I don't care about that enough to stop me from getting one! Cuz I ain't scared, just curious :-)

since it is programmed is it just a plug in installation or do we need to have it installed by a dealer or need a special computer program?
Sorry you guys are having to spell this out, im illiterate when it comes to this sort of stuff.
The unichip comes with instructions for install. Instructions are currently available for review from the company website, no purchase necessary. The kit is designed so you can easily install it yourself. The Unichip is PnP (Plug-n-Play), no extra computer necessary. Unless you get the FLUX version.

It's a Plug-n-play harness. I have the 2003 version and it required me to remove my glovebox door (two screws) and the back of the glovebox (three screws). The vehicle wiring attaches to the ECU with plugs, with a release latch on top. Each plug is a different size so they can only fit one way, one place. The plugs from the vehicle are plugged into the Unichip harness adapter and it's wires plug into the ECU, same style plugs that only fit one way/one place and they are all labled as to where to plug it. It is that simple.

And after you do the install and are enjoying all that extra performance, and yet you want a bit more, you can elect to have it dyno tuned for ADDITIONAL gains. But you don't HAVE to.
