The wait is killin me heh. Do you guys think if I get the chip pre-tuned with catback and CAI that it will work alright with just the CAI and stock exhaust. I will be buying a catback here in about 3 months. I for sure want the speed limiter removed also.

yeah one thing i was asking myself..how much would it cost to have it retuned..if i went with headers and if i wanted to upgrade other stuff
i googled the address of the unichip dealer in my town..shows some persons house.. i know both of the dyno shop in town n its nothing close to it..
Re: Proposed Group Buy: Unichip P&P Tuner For 07+ Tundra & All Toyo Trucks & Suvs
Just wanted to answer a few questions. First of all, Unichip claims that the tuner is undetectable because it is a piggy back that simply alters the stock output settings of the ecu. If you have to go to the dealer, simply unplug it, disconnect the battery, and all stock settings are restored. The "black box recorder" is only accessed in the event of a crash, even then, you could remove the Unichip and claim that the truck was "acting weird"
If you know you're going to upgrade your exhaust, then I would have it pre-programmed for your upgrades. Don't install it with the stock exhaust though, it could cause problems because the piggy back is adjusting AF ratios based on the increased amount of airflow that an exhaust gives you.
Dyno and tuning cost will vary from shop to shop, call around.
We only need 16 more people!

Re: Proposed Group Buy: Unichip P&P Tuner For 07+ Tundra & All Toyo Trucks & Suvs
hi, don't get it mapped for thing you don't have. it will through cell codes.
now if you have it mapped for all mods, such as cai, headers, and cat back. buy the unichip and have it mapped for all these mod's, and when all you mods are installed, than and only than install the UNICHIP.
what people have done before is , have it mapped for mods even though they don't have them thinking it is going to have the results , NOT!!!!!!!
it will most likley cause you heart ache.
like i continue to say, when it's time, i will help guide you, it's easy t do, all you need is time and patience.
as any of us who did the install knows the ecu wire harness wires and plugs are short so it is a tight fit. no big deal, it does work, they do go in, and the results are totally awesome! at least what i seen.
but please remember mod your truck 1st before you install. or buy the unichip than do the mods ,than install.
do not lie, when placing the order, if you have it mapped wrong, your the one wasting your money.

Yes, I'll PM everyone to let them know the specifics once the GB closes. The order will most likely need to be placed over the phone so that you can give them your specific modifications on your truck. Thanks.

Re: Proposed Group Buy: Unichip P&P Tuner For 07+ Tundra & All Toyo Trucks & Suvs
I got 3 bonehead questions about FLUX.
1. It is a seperate tuner all together correct? so you can not buy the PnP and then upgrade to flux.
2. Is this GB for FLUX or PNP or both?
3. I'm assuming that FLUX will be more expensive.
Regardless, i signed up as number 9 or something for the GB and cant wait. Only thing is I may be up in FT Lewis for a month when this comes out. O well, it will just be that much sweeter to come home to a new set of rims AND a programmer when all is done.

Those aren't boneheaded at all Flux is not a separate tuner, its simply an upgrade that allows access to more calibrations. Unichip is working on software that will allow the user to fine tune their Unichip without going to a shop. I have been told that Flux can also control features such as the rpm limiter and speed limiter as well as traction control features. Flux uses special software that is downloaded to a PDA. Laptops will be able to be used shortly as well. This GB is for flux as well, but only for models that are flux-equipped. At this moment Flux is not available for the 07 & 08 Tundra. 1st gen owners can purchase Flux on this GB. We will be able to upgrade to Flux once it is available. Yes, Flux is more expensive, but I'm not sure what the price will be.

Re: Proposed Group Buy: Unichip P&P Tuner For 07+ Tundra & All Toyo Trucks & Suvs
I went ahead and put my name on the list. The 2-3 mpg better is all that I needed to be convinced. After a cai, catback, and the tuner, I should probably average over 20mpg pretty easily. I just talked to Jack from Unichip, and he was very informative. There is also a Unichip certified tuner just a few miles from me!
BTW: He said that the Flux tuner for the 07+ Tundra should be right around $1000 (normal price). I'm sure that with another GB, that can be whittled down a bit. He said that they are working on a near simultaneous release as the base PnP tuner. Right after this first run of the regular unit, they should be coming out with the Flux. Hope that's helpful to someone.
