I really wanted to do the group buy thing, but I just had to use that $150 for another priority over the weekend. Also, realizing Skidrow is in central PA, I could go pick them up for less then $135.00+ shipping would be. Good luck to you guys on getting 20 though. Thanks.

Sorry guys.

I know I'm letting you down, but I'm gonna have to pass on this one.

Had some personal talk time with myself and came to grips with the fact that my driving will be 99.999% on-road so this would end up being a needless cosmetic purchase for me.

I too drive 99% of the time on the street, my main reason on getting this is to facilitate easier oil changes.

Actually, that was anotehr question I had.

So what does the dealer do when you bring the Tundra in for an oil change?

Do they actually remove the front skid plate EVERY time you bring it in for an oil change?

No, it's not even that bad and you DON'T have to remove the factory skid plate. You just have to remove the oil filter from the top instead of the bottom.

I have no idea, I would never take mine in for just an oil change.

When I used to take mine to the dealer, they would usually drop the skidplate to do the oil...

Oh yeah? That seems like it would be a waste of time. I bet they didn't even try to go in from the top.

Question Delinquent

I answered yes to the poll a week or two ago but did not follow up. Then forgot all about this. (I usually only visit every month or two anyway.)

In any case, tonight I e-mailed Skid Row. If it is not too late to get the discount, I will order the entire package.

Any word on whether or not we got the 20? From the responses, doesn't look like we did (even though >20 signed to poll saying they would); kinda disappointed if it didn't go through due to this.
Well, keep us updated.

Below is the email message I received from Eric today.

Hi Clay,
We have a total of 16 skid plates ordered. I would think that more than enough time has passed to get your group's orders in. This was probably a bad time of year to be arranging this since it's vacation time for a lot of folks. We've decided to go ahead and give the discount anyhow so please tell your group that today is the last day to get their orders to us. We'll start filling your orders tomorrow.

If you still want to order make sure you get it in by tonight. This is the final deadline and the last time these plates will be offered at a discount.

Talking Can't take it anymore!

So I went ahead and called up Eric at Skid Row and ordered the front Skid Plate.

I just figured I may want to change my own oil someday or possibly go off the beaten path or I may inadvertently come across a pile of paver bricks stacked 18" high in the center of my lane on the freeway or . . .

Regardless, called 'em ep and ordered a front skid plate.

This is my first (and most definitely not last) Group Buy participation. Thanx ShrevePortTundra for putting this together.

Kewll beanz.
