It's alright. Feel free to vent. It has been a long wait.
Even if they did get one set ready the wires still aren't done and I wouldn't event be able to hook them up yet.
They were actually attempting to be very accomidating, however, I was able to see their point.
Hopefully we will be VERY VERY satisfied with the product.
Well, to clarify, when I said "finish ONE SET COMPLETELY" this included the wires. e.g. Finish the ENTIRE SET, O2 sensors and all, to allow some testing to begin so others can see some progress before things stall again. (Showing some progress on one complete set will do wonders to restore any dwindling faith...)
Again, my .02 cents from working with customers for the last 17 years...
Seee-ya,
Jim.

I understood what your point was and I hear ya completely.
From my understanding of the position that S & S is in right now is that they don't have the parts for the wires all together yet and are outsourcing the assembly of the wires. This part will not actually be done by S & S.
I understand all the frustrations everyone is feeling and I assure you S & S is trying to complete this project as quickly as possible.
They really are trying to be helpful and have as much desire to have this project in the books as we all do. Please just be patient with them.
Thank you.

Tremo, don't you have the JBA's? Don't you like them? I'm gonna wait till I have all the money saved for the headers again (I just spent it on a catback sys), and if I can't have a set then within 2 weeks, I'll buy the JBA's!

I'll also have a set of S&S Autochrome headers for sale with the y pipe welded and ready for installation with resonator, i.e. from the heads to the stock muffler or cat back.

Yep, got the JBA's 'cuz I was tired of waiting for these. I like them and they've performed as expected. However, if these do offer more low-end torque and live up to the expectations, I may consider replacing the JBA's. Plus, I like keeping everyone honest by raising questions from a (potential) customer's perspective...call it my nature or my training having dealt with customers for so many years.
BTW, thanks for the reply Imdone. I now understand where they're coming from. It just seems kinda strange (silly, really, from a customer's perspective) that they can't cobble together some wire harnesses after all this time. I mean, I realize they're outsourcing it, but still you'd think you could order the parts online and have a local electrical handyman wire the things up in no time?? Just playing devil's advocate here, I'll stop now and you can slap me later!
Seee-ya,
Jim.

I spoke w/Rgerdes. He has pulled the wiring for the o2 sensors out of his truck to find a match. He checked a parts book for a company in Dallas. They look to be a match and he will be in Dallas at their warehouse that makes the metal connector inside the wiring plug tomorrow. He will verify that they are the correct piece and will bring them back to Phoenix. He will also be getting the wire and has got the plastic plugs.
Rgerdes and I will talk on monday and if these are the correct pieces he will be able to deliver all the parts needed for the wiring extensions to S & S Monday.
I know there has been some anxiety waiting for these headers and the o2 sensor wiring has not been a welcome hitch in the plans but I and Rgerdes will guarantee that having a plug and play system for the O2 sensor wiring will make the install and life much easier than any alternatives out there.
Rgerdes said this has been a much more difficult ordeal to find the parts for the wiring extensions than even he anticipated and has been working diligently to bring this issue to resolution.
I send out A great thank you to Rgerdes for all his hard work.
Stay tuned I will post again on monday after I speak with Rgerdes. This should really progress this project.

Excellent Rgerdes! Your persistence pays off. Had no idea those connectors where so hard to locate...
Good luck!
Jim.

bomber
Hey bomber,
You mean you'll also have a set of SS Autochrome headers for sale? So you plan to ditch the JBA-like SS headers for a set of these S&S headers? Just curious...
Seee-ya!

Yep! If you read any of my previous posts, you'll see that I was pretty satisified with the Autochromes for what they were designed to do. That is low cost to replace the crap exhaust manifolds, superior material (still the best out there), good performance, ease of installation (that one is up for debate) and good looks. Since most of my driving is stop and go and towing a boat/motorcyle, I don't need the high end torque (although it feels great rompin on it once in a while ). I even said that I would probably change at some point. SOOO, if S&S gets their act together SOON (before winter) and they perform as advertised - I'm dumpin Autochrome for S&S and I'm in for the grouppie buy.
I know you've been hard at work all this weekend, so what's the good word? Speak words of encouragement to quench our thirst. We're dyin' here... and it's startin to get friggen chilly. Headers will be available _______ (insert exact date please).
