Exclamation NEWS!!!!!

We have found a possible hitch in the plan.

Now don't fret, we're still in it.

We have found that the wiring for the O3 sensors is a sheilded wire. This is a coaxil wire and does not splice well.

S & S and The Rgerdes connection are working to get a splicing wire that will be an extension with plug ends to fit factory-like in the Oxygen sensor system. They are working with Toyota to get a plug and play type set up that will keep us from having to splice wires. Splicing the wires will not be easy, and we are trying to set this up to be as simple as possible.

I will keep you guys informed. Hopefully it does not put any delays in the time frame, but if it does it is only to bring eveyone the top of the line custom product possible.

This however may increase the price of the headers. I will let you know when I do. This increase is due to the fact that this was not expected or planed for. We do not at this time know what the price increase will be but it will effect all pricing, whether it be group buy or Club/Platinum member purchase or direct from S & S.

I actually just found out on Thursday that the O2 wires were coax so this was news to me, RGerdes and S & S.

Keep checking the posts for further information.

Thank you.

Exclamation ORDERING

This is VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!

When placing your order for the headers, you will order direct from S & S' website. You will go to the site ORDER PAGE and add to shopping basket. You will then be taken to your shopping basket page. From there click on "To check out Click Here".

You then get to "Checkout". Here you will click on "If this is you first time ordering from our on-line store click here..."

Here is the important stuff.

You fill out your information for billing and shipping and how you are going to pay. They do take checks if needed but they will not send the kit until the check is received and cleared.

At the bottom of the page there is a Comments section, here you will write:

T/S Group buy price $799.00 + Shipping.

Then write your user name here on T/S, ie: Imdone.

S & S will let me know of the usernames so I can verify that these are club/Platinum club member orders.

Remember no registered members can order at this price.

If you have questions please post here.

Thank you.

I wonder if the TRD headers or the Downey's require an extension wire? It seems like they would have to because the O2 wires just barely fit even with the short JBA's. Maybe the wiring extensions for those headers would work or their supplier could provide them?

Any header that moves the cat back, the o2 sensor wire will need to be extended. I do not remember reading anything saying that the Downey or TRD headers move the cats further back on the system.

You will have at least the 5 - 7 weeks if not more due to the delay. We have not shortened the time frame at all.

With the TRD and Downey headers, the catalysts are in the stock location. I thought the S&S Headers were going to do away with the after catalyst sensors and just have the two that are located in the collectors. The TRD headers have the sensor bungs near the end of the collectors, so they must have extension wires because the collectors have only a short section of pipe between them and the catalysts. There are plenty of guys on TS using TRD headers. Want me to PM one of them and get an answer?

You can if you want. I can tell you that there is NO!!! way to get rid of any of the sensors. The truck will run way too rich and you will get terrible gas mileage.

I speak from experience.

The front sensor is right in front of the cat. The trds probably put the sensor in the collector. This is pretty much where it is now.

The S & S will have to extend the sensors about 2 feet. This is the need for extensions.

Why don't you pm one of the trd users and see where the sensors are. Now that I think about it it would be interesting.

Thanks.

So it is the rear sensors that have moved not the fronts? Only one set of O2 sensor extentions are needed?

No, All 4 are moved and will need to be extended. The front sensor is in the collector by these are 35" long tubes. The rears are behind the cats.

One last question, how big of a difference is in that new Y-pipe? Where the two pipes meet looks very simmilar to the current y-pipe where I feel is a major downfall in the Current setup. Will it really flow that much better than stock?

You are looking at a prototype, This is not the finished product picture.

I will post some pictures of the final product when it is done. I will post pictures of the collectors the y-pipe with measurements so you guys know exactly what's up.

This from mustang67408:

Hello, TRD headers Do Not require any O2 sensor extensions, for any of the O2 sensors, you just have to unclip them from there factory clips and run them neatly until they plug in, it plugs in perfectly with no tightness or pulling on the harnesses. It is a very clean install, I'll try to take some pics this weekend\
Take care
Victor

Thanks Dude. That is what I thought. But, thank you for checking.

S&S is currently working on this problem. I will let you guys know what the outcome is.

UPDATE!!!!!

The jigs are made and the header material has been ordered. They are on thier way.

TESTING UPDATE!!!!!

I have recently put on 285/75/17 tires and wheels the pics are in my photos. This will be a big deal on the test. The wheels are 17 x 9 and the tires have a lot more gerth. I have absolutely noticed a power reduction since putting them on on Monday of this week.

I think this will really help with the before and after tests from my 4x4.
