I'll let you know. It will be some time after the tests are done. I have S & S' agreement that the testing needs to be done first. They have extended the timeline for the price for us.

When I see DYNO-results with a bone stock truck V-8......I'll decide. I won't buy based on one's opinion's on how they perform.I need to see increased low end and mid range hump to purchase. 800.00 is no deal if the pipes don't make more power where it's needed.
Based on DYNO, not I believe it feels stronger.....OH MY....!
Is he running a G-Force computer or some type of computer to see increases also a towing increase. SAY....pulling a 4000lb boat up a 30% incline for a 1/2 mile.
Sorry, I just haven't read the testing procedure, if he is, ignore me.
Second, I will have dyno tests done, as I have already posted before. Due to the amount of people that want to see them, therefore, I will provide.
I will not be using a computer for testing, although that would be nice, all the same I am not going to post a "yup, feels like there is more power, buyem." type of test.
I will be posting the altitude of the travel, the grade of the hill, the amount being towed, the speed of travel, the gear maintained at speed, the shifting of what gear at what rpm and at what speed, the time from the bottom to the top, and temperature, and if people would like the lunar cycle for that day of the month of the year.
This will not be some seat of the pants power increase statement. I feel that this test will provide a better source of the low end power compared to that of a dyno that looks for WOT power.
I will be doing this test this way because I am interested if I can travel with boat in tow up 6%+ grade at 2000 - 2400 rpm and maintain speed without shifting gears. I already know for fact that the stock vehicle with a K&N airfilter and 17" x 9" wheels and 285/70/17r tires can not.
But, don't worry dynos on a 4x4 will be done for those that want them.

ImDone,
Now, I'm done.
Thats what is needed. I knew with so many knowledge laiden folk here the seat of my pants story might not fly.
The G-Force would suffice also for me anyway. Especially on the pulls. Dyno pulls will also make sense.
I can be counted on if the TQ and HP make the curve, so to speak.
Anybody have a G-Force meter to lend to Imdone for his testing?

I know there isnt a dyno report on these headers as of yet, but what torque range is the sweet spot expected to be in? Any ideas? Im looking for something in the lower rpm range where I can get the best bang for the buck while towing.

Where did you get your bowhunter decal that you have on your avatar? I bowhunt elk and mule deer here in Idaho. Bow season is just around the corner!
The request was for headers tuned for max power boost in the 1800-3000 rpm range. The designer of the headers, Loren at S&S, tows a travel trailer himself, so he knows what's involved there. He also builds headers for race cars, and he was clearly told that we want the headers for folks who tow or use big tires...low and moderate rpm range, not top end. He's been designing and building headers for 30+ years, and when he saw the specs for our Tundra engines he started remembering some of his successful header designs for Chevy 283 engines...same displacement, same cylinder firing rotation.
We'll see the results when Imdone get the headers and does his testing.

No CARB certification will be done for the headers.
SON OF ODIN
I bought it at an archery shop about a year ago. PM me if you want one. I will see if I can find one around here and send it to you. They are like $3 - $5 depending on the shop.
I hear ya about hunting coming up here in a couple weeks for Mulies and 4 weeks for my elk hunt. I cant wait.
I am seriously considering getting in on this group buy. So much so that I just finished paying to become a club member. I havent completely read through this entire thread yet (its pretty long) but is there a deadline to get in on this buy?
Imdone,
I dont want you to have to go to any inconvenience for the decal, but if you are heading that way someday, let me know and I can mail you a money order or something. Good luck with the upcoming season.
Dude, you think this one is long check out where this all started. S & S THE BEGINING. This is where it all began. There is a plethora of useful information regarding this project and headers in general here. If you have an hour to kill this makes for some really good reading.
I am always at one Archery shop or another. I will see if I can find one for you. Good luck to you too.
Ok, Ive seen that one and confused it with this one. (too many catagories in the forums leave me dizzy) anyway, JEEZ! that thing is 32 pages long! The last post from 8/12/03 stated

Nobody has installed S&S headers--they aren't out 'til next month
But looking at S&S website, they have them listed for sale and even mention the extention wire for the O2 sensor that you were talking about. I know you (Imdone) are the test pilot for these. Do you currently have them on your truck?
About the decal, let me know if you find one and what I owe you.
