p.s. am i the only one here with these concerns regarding 03-04 s/c results?
I would have more of a warm and cozy feeling if the mapping was actually performed on a 03/04 SC/header/performance-exaust-equipped truck. On the other hand, I will be getting the SC harness with an NA map, and will probably be taking my time to install the performance upgrades. So, this is not a show stopper for me. Hopefully by the time I am ready to upgrade to a SC map there will be something in the database that more closely matches my truck.
Well I just got off the phone with my dad, who happens to own a 2001 Tundra. If I can purchase a second Unichip under my user name, he will buy one. Call it a gift, a donation, whatever....as long as it fits within the group buy rules we will have 39 deposits. If I can get confirmation that bwilder10h will be in as well...that makes the total 40 ...and then everyone is happy. Let me know Verndog if this is cool...bwilder10h what do you think?
I see no problem buying 10 if you'd like!
As long as your a member there is no limit to quantity
Fire away. Possibly note "second unit" so they notice the mods are different
to be on the safe side.
ill bring up the dyno resuts for the s/c engines yet once again.
-where are they?
p.s. am i the only one here with these concerns regarding 03-04 s/c results?
NO - you're not the only one. I am VERY concerned about the lack of dyno results. And I'm even more concerned that Jack plans to offer 03-04 maps for mods based on some sort of calculation using the 00-02 tests. Tuning for the mods this way makes me very nervous.
It seems at this point that the stock dyno results are in and nobody wants to post them because they are dissappointing - againg making me nervous. It seems at this point that the 40+ number will not be met for stock, and that we'll have to rely on Jack's calculator to tune for our mods. I don't like this.
First off, there are posts here from members with the unichip installed, and they are very happy! Re-read the thread and there are links to testamonials. For the S/C guys, the first results of the 2000-2002 should be forthcoming as I believe they recently finished the dyno tuning. There shouldn't be much difference between the final results between the 2 groups. (If you have an 03 or 04, compared to a 2000-2002.)
Please, lets not get nervous at the alter.

Not as bad as you think.... the 03+ have 2 injectors the 99-02 one. If you know the CC of the two injectors combined.. then it is easy to match them up with the single injector CC of the 99-02 and fire away. All your wanting is the A/F correct. If that is correct, then the timing will follow and your back on track. The stock ECU is out of the picture at that point.

YES... it is a CAMRY....
It does sound rather fishy that the dyno results seem to be "top secret" and not posted here.
I don't have a s/c engine, but based on this and the recent posts that went something like "engines with mods didn't see as big of an increase as bone stock" it's making me start to think twice about getting in.
How many people sat back and wouldn't even spend $150 for a set of SS autochrome headers until they posted results. I was one of them, but now very glad that I have them on my truck.

I will atttempt to answer this and maintain my cool . First off I hope you consider your implications before you posted this. I am in no way keeping anything from anyone, have spent countless hours providing BOTH sides of the unichip, set up a website so everyone can access all relative information....and then I read this???
There is no basis for these comments!! As I said, dyno is done, and I just recieved it this morning because they were painting on Friday....like I posted.
I am at work and cant convert the PDF file to JPEG post so you'll have to wait till this eve.

This is not what was posted. They haven't even dyno'd the modified truck!!! I posted from trends with modifications because of the RUMOR they would always be higher...and for all we know they could be higher.
All dynos are being posted as soon as I recieve them!
I'm going to wait until this chip has been out for a while before I purchase.
It seems like this group buy is getting pushed through too early. The units don't sound to be ready and we're pressuring Jack to get them done and he's calculating differences between two different models instead of proven dyno results and actual vehicle testing. Not to mention all the back and forth regarding what the actual gains are for each vehicle.
No flames intended, not trying to rain on the parade, just personal observations. Good luck to all involved!

i see the first chart is up under kevin's photos...you'll need acrobat reader, your browser may or may not display the file correctly. if not, right-click and "save as", then open the file on its own.
from the dyno, it looks as good as a set of long tube headers, but cheaper, and a heckuva lot easier to install .
I have not installed headers, I have however, installed a Gibson Catback Dual Exhaust system and I'm thinking of participating in the SS Autochrome Goup Buy.
If I install the headers after the UniChip, will I have to get the Chip Re-Mapped?

This is by no means a show stopper for me either - all i was asking is where are the results from Jack? - Im still going forward without any hesitation, but i want to know exactly what the results are on the 03'-04' s/c truck with headers and exhaust so i can figure out if getting a mapped unit for ONLY THIS APPLICATION is a good idea or would a " very expensive custom tune " work better. please dont anyone think about bailing out because of this minor issue - it can be resolved by Jack im sure and im not worried about anything except which road im going to take as to mapped or unmapped.
This could all be resolved real simple if a owner of a 03'-04' supercharged truck with short headers and free flow exhaust would let Jack test and map your truck - He would also give you the Unichip for free i belive (dont hold me to that but its been done in the past)
If anyone is reading this and you own a 03'-04' s/c truck with no other mods dont worry about anything because jacks mapped a 03' with s/c.
