Go for it on the SS auto headers. I installed them last Friday and couldn't be happier for the money...
I'm still pondering the Unichip purchase after Vern last few posts cleared some of the fog up... but I'm glad someone took my place at 40... although I had no doubts it would go beyond that and I look for the 50 mark to be reached by the end of the week.
bwilder10h....go for the CHIP!! You won't regret it!
Should I switch back to the stock intake and just get a TRD filter and RAPs or stick with my FIPK and possibly RAPs?
P.S. Woohoo 40!!! Anyone think we could get 50? That'd be kickin.
Honestly, switch back to the stock intake, and go with a paper filter. I had a 2hp increase on the dyno switching back to the oem from the trd.

I LOVE IT MAN !!!! you should be posting this all over the world -
The truth we set you free and free up a few extra horses.
wish one of you guys could have tested the RAPS while at the dyno - ( im really wanting one) - oh well next dyno meet.

I had the raps on for all the dyno runs, however, you need to have a fan to match mph blowing into it to see results.
*edit* However, adding the raps to a supercharged truck, you are adding an extra way for the engine to suck in more air. Verndog, can I get a sticker too?

Would a scooped hood help my K&N? Or should I switch to AEM?
I hate to say it, but I love the sound of the intake...
I don't know man, the FIPK II and the AEM seem like the same thing to me. A functioning hood scoop is going to cool the air in the engine bay. The RAPS is going to direct air at the FIPK or AEM. It's really up to you. I'm switching back to paper at the oil change.

I think I may just tack on a RAPs and maybe a scooped hood and see how that goes... If not I'll use my free retune and go back to the stock intake.
Vern, do you know if Jack would further discount the price if we got 50 people?

Interesting. I've heard this before form others on TS, but my 1/4 mile testing shows and improvement in ET and MPH with the FIPK installed vs. the stock air box. (Results at http://ramairperformance.com) Plus just like keiphes, I LOVE the sound of it opening up!
Q: At what RPM range did you see the 2HP gain? Or was it an avergage 2HP gain across the entire RPM band??
Also, regarding:

Did you actually use a fan on the dyno that matched or equated to the MPH? (Not sure if a fan exists whereby its variable speed = miles per hour??)
Thanks man!
Jim.

Unfortunately, no fan to simulate airflow at WOT. The gain was throughout. I think when V8toilet posts the dyno results you may be able to see. Now, this summer when I go to the track, I'll be able to see the results for the RAPS. I did not use fipk on the dyno, only the stock air box. The difference was only between the trd filter and the OEM.

That would be a real stretch IMO....but the answer would be no. We've have now reached the full 20% discount and he hasn't given any breaks beyond that. We are somewhat lucky that he lumped all unichips into one, he started with the discounts at 2000-2002 and 2003-2004 with the same numbers...meaning he discounted using same numbers for each different harness...but I worked him a bit...and he agreed to all together...so I wouldn't feel right to push this one.

Picked up 1 more today...now at 42!

No prob at all. I'm very glad Jack agreed to this in the first place, and I really appreciate both of y'all's work to get this off the ground. Now the only question is, who wants to be the guy sittin around chipless when all of us are testing out our sweet new Unichip? I know I sure wouldn't .

Ok guys...I put my deposit in today so I guess that makes 43. I've chosen to go with a mapped unit for a normally aspirated stock application on my 2004 V8 Tundra.
Verndog, can you confirm receipt of my $100 deposit via Paypal?
As I understand it, this offer comes with one free re-tune which I plan to utilize upon installation of a TRD supercharger kit (although TRD has currently placed a hold on all 4.7L V8 superchargers which may take a few months to correct).
My question is...Will I be able to re-tune this N/A pre-programmed 'mapped' PnP kit at a later point to the S/C PnP kit? I understand there is an initial price difference of $825 vs. $945 and therefore may not allow such a change/re-tune.
If this is the case, I may want to change my initial order to the supercharged PnP kit application. Help me to understand if I'd be able to properly utilize this S/C unichip prior to installation of the S/C in order to realize the benefits on my N/A engine. Let me know what you guys think and thanks in advance for all of your assistance.
I am in the same boat as ESAN. I placed my order and now find out that it could be awhile before I'm able to get the supercharger. I ordered a unichip for a supercharged engine. What next???
