As soon as I decide what to put for my intake on the order (can't decide if I want to get a RAPS for my FIPK, go back to stock + TRD filter + RAPS, or go AEM), I think I'll be the next on the list... We're at 16 right now, correct?

The pre-mapped units are for 92 octane, right? I think I asked Jack that question, and he said that most users were after the best performance gains and would logically be using higher grade fuel. Also a question about the A-B switch: Is it switched by plugging into alternate connectors, or is there an actual switch somewhere near the unit? Either way, you would have to go behind the glove box to get at it, right? I'm hoping to find $800 laying around somewhere before Friday!

I'm not sure if we ever got a final octane answer from Jack or not? Regarding the A/B switch, I'm 95% certain it's an actual switch on the Unichip box itself. So, yes, if the box mounts behind the glove box (see pointer to Matrix installation guide in the Unichip thread) then you'd have to access it by removing in the glove box I imagine.
Come on Dude Boy...I'm rootin' for ya' man! Daddy's gots to have more power!
Seee-ya,
Jim.

I hope the pre-mapped units are not tuned to 92 Octane, because I can't even get it around here. The best I can get is 91. We probably need an answer on this, although I cant access the unichip website to get Jack's email. Is his site down?

They actually are tuned to min Octane 88 or 87. That is another advantage IMO...not forcing higher octane...but still is a choice for those that prefer it. There is an a and b switch on the unit...should be able to reach up under glovebox and make the switch!
SC units will be the higher octane though (obviously).
How is final payment going to be handled? Will we be able to pay through paypal to them, or to you, or will it be one on one with Jack via credit card or the like?
Thanks!

Final payment and all further info will be forwarded to Jack. He will bill you the remaining amount and arrange shipping. He will contact each member about their order. No paypal, but I believe credit card payment can be arranged, I will have to double check that though.
GB ends midnight Friday, right? I'm having problems /w paypal.
Is the SC harness and add-on feature, or a different configuration? I'm thinking about buying it /w the SC feature, but add the SC at a later date. (ie: I do not
currently own a SC)
Anyone talk to the various Registered shops to get a feel about their knowlage?
How about the AZ shop?
I got the money and I'm ready to jump, I just need to work out the details.
Thanks.

It's a slightly different configuration, ie. there's a few extra plugs that are used to control extra injectors, boost, ect. If you don't have a s/c now, you can still buy the unichip & s/c harness, but have it mapped for a normally aspirated engine. If you do this, I believe the extra plugs on the harness will come taped up. When you purchase the s/c, send your unichip back to Jack, and he'll re-map it for a s/c'd application for free. (As part of the group buy, everyone gets one free re-map for add on mods) When you get your new re-mapped unichip back, cut the tape around the extra plugs on the harness and install them. You should be ready to go.

I think the general concensus is that it's better to go with the pre-mapped units from unichip rather than a custom tune. The units are mapped with the safety of the engine in mind, plus they are ready to be installed as soon as you get your new chip. If you find a good tuner down the road, you can always have it customed tuned. IT's really hit or miss on how good the local tuners are.

I'd just go for it...no sense in missing out on a good deal. Hope this helps.

Refer to zebra1550's post on SC. He's spot on...buy the SC unit and run it N/A until you get the SC.
Jack has extended the Group Buy 1 week. In light of the Sequoia issue coming in late, and tuners list people are working out. We now have to 1 week from Friday to close.
This should not push the ship date back, only extend the group buy.
Looking at the numbers...we may have a possible shot at 30 and another 5% off!
I'm having problems changing my poll to paid, please help.
