Unfortunately not. They don't have access to a coating facilty nearby and it's a little late to propose anything else to them. Sorry.

Default Jet-Hot coating

For those of you interested in coating your headers, I contacted Jet-Hot about the shorty headers. Received a quote from them yesterday. $264.00 shipping included. They have facilities in MS and AZ. Jet-Hot.com/1-800-432-3379. They claim a 4 day turnaround. I'm sure there are other companies out there as well.

Erik: I'm darn close to jumping in on this deal. My only concern is the installation, I would have to do it myself..no help available. Anyway, could SS Autochrome ship the headers directly to Jet-Hot for me instead of my place if I can work it out with Jet-Hot? This would save me some hassle. Thanks.

Ed,
Thanks for getting that info for the folks interested in coating these headers. I can talk to the guys at SS Autochrome and see if they could ship them to Jet Hot for you; I'll let you know. As far as install help, I'd be happy to give you some pointers, or do the install myself. I did one the other day for a guy here locally for $200. The only problem with me doing the install is my lack of time...I'd mhave to try and squeeze you in on a weekend day sometime in the next few weeks, but I'm not sure when that would be. We can talk more about this if it comes to it.

Thanks to everyone who's jumped in on this so far; I'm sure SS Autochrome appreciates it!

Yep, I'm that guy that Erik helped /w the install. It was the S&S headers and
I thought it was a major p.i.t.a., but I believe Erik made it go alot better than
if I had done it myself. He knew some great tricks and fixes, and did a real clean job on the install. Now I'm looking into getting a flowmaster installed,
and I will be a happy camper!

Default Installed today!

Hey guys,

I got mine installed today...and this is a great deal for the $$!!! I am impressed by my early review on just the drive home. Quieter in the cab and sound better outside, installed with no issues (paid $300.00 cause back is giving me fits!)...but they did in 4.5 hrs. Fit great, and look even better. I had complements from ALL 3 shops I had quote prices, and they see headers everyday.

And...do yourself a favor...with the money you saved...buy the ceramic coating! Wow....couldn't believe the difference. Got home, I put my hand next to headers after just turning off....and just like he said....I could not feel the heat coming from them at all!! I swear...I touched the pipe with my middle finger cause I had to see how warm they were....OUCH....they are hot but could not tell...just had to see...(don't try that part).

Sounds awesome man, can't wait until I get mine. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the ceramic coating? I'm definetly going to do it, I just want an estimate so I can kinda plan out the money situation. And did you get your Y-Pipe coated too? Have fun with your headers!

I payed $190.00 but that was a good price because a friend knows the platers and they are next door to our shop. Anything around $220.00 is a good deal...also mine are the chromex-ceramic which has a 1400 deg. rating and is more of a show finish. If your not planning a SC this will maintain its finish real well, but the jet hot 2000 is a higher heat finish that will go to 2000 degs for a turbo or a SC...and more of a dull darker finish...not a huge deal except I show my truck for the billet.

This is a pic of mine after plating.

I'm in on this. I will send the email in a minute. Am I only the ninth one? Come on you guys, there's only a couple of days left to get this up to 30. I bought my JBA headers and had them sent UPS 2nd day from Hawaii to Oregon, and it ran about $37 shipping. That was in October '02, so the price could be higher now. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. You might be able to save a little more if you have them sent to a business address.
