Will do guys...I don't know what the hold up on these headers is really, as I haven't heard back from the guys in a while. I'll attempt to make contact again today if have the chance. Thanx again for all the patience!

Default Update!!!

GOOD NEWS!! I just recieved the "updated" V6 Headers from SS Autochrome! The fit and finish is awesome...100% stainless steel! They did change the design a bit (they resemble the TRD headers more) but I was assured that performance gains would be similar, if not better. It's been a while since the poll was posted, but if everyone is still interested, I'll start a groupbuy as soon as the moderators give me the go ahead. Anyhow, feel free ask questions at any time. Thanks again for everyones patience...I have no clue what took so long!!

This group buy was started before you needed to be a member to do a group buy. Can a non member participate in this group buy or do I have to pay the fee?

Just a clarification, Depending on the pricing with the vendor, some group buys are open to both registered members and club members. This particular group buy is like that. On this GB, Club Members will receive an additional $10 discount.

Any word on how much we are looking to spend for these? I am on vacation in the states right now and I need to know how much to put aside. Also I already got rid of $1999.00. Can anyone guess on what?

I can guess, let us know how it runs after install. I ended up with a 5 psi pulley to eliminate pinging since I won't be doing fuel upgrades any time soon if ever.

There's a link to these new headers, they actually look pretty good. Really wish I could figure a way around CARB

Good guess . I was wondering, does the pinging that everyone talk about really make that much of noise? Also, does it matter what altittude you are at for the ping to be encountered? And lastly, what fuel upgrades would I need to eliminate the ping and does the upgrades also improve performance?

I looked at the link for the headers and I noticed that the driver side header had 2 tubes linked and and a 3rd seperate pipe I guess for the final exhaust port, I tried imagining the installation but it looks like the individual pipe was too long. Am I correct? Does the install require cutting or welding or is it a complete bolt on? Oh, and does anyone know the price we will be paying for this group buy?

Sorry for the questions.

John

The pinging sounds like a light rattling from the engine. As far as I know, it's not as common in higher altitudes. At the moment gadget's kit through www.urdusa.com is the only fuel upgrades available, since TRD still hasn't come up with the extra injector for the Tundra. Gadget's kit is pretty cool just still recquires tuning on laptop for best performance, safest operation and definitely will yield more power. If TRD ever gets around to releasing 7th injector it also will yield more power. If you do get pinging you can get the 5 psi pulley free of charge while the SC is still under warranty and it will eliminate pinging until you get your fuel upgrades done.

Erik, mentioned fit and finish so perhaps he already test fitted these and may know more. I emailed ssautochrome and they said they bolt right up, but couldnt say whether the first cat is eliminated since they "just got these in" From what I see in the picture I think they would have to bolt up to the exhaust just behind where the first cat is located eliminating it.

You'll have to wait and see what Erik says on cost, I notice on ebay they are price at $250 starting bid instead of $150 as before.

Any news on the headers I won't have to worry about CARB since I will be moving to Arizona in July and my Tundra should follow in late August.

Hey guys,

Whats the deal with SSAutochrome? I checked their website and it seems that they no longer have the headers posted for the Tundra. They show a set of headers but they do not look like the one that was previously shown here. Are they scrapping that too?

I was going to go ahead and order the headers instead of waiting for the group buy, but I guess thats gonna have o wait too. Boy I'm glad I got the S/C. Now I just can't wait to get back home from vacation to install it.

Does anyone have a number I can use to call SS and ask them about the headers? I can't email them as I am not using my home pc. I hope things change.

John

You can probably IM Tuns-o-fun, he should have their number from organizing this stuff. Don't know about their website but the ones they've been listing on ebay lately look more like TRD headers. Are those the ones you're looking at.
