I put mine on, just take out the two center screws that hold the red lens cover on, then replace with the two new screws that the TRD cover comes with. I was going to powder coat mine too, but with my white truck, the machined aluminum doesn't look bad at all! I stood behind my truck with the cargo lights on and the brake lights on. The light shines through pretty good, I'll check at night too.

got my third lightcover today from camelback...good quality! i put it on and yeah it looked nice but the fit wasn't flush...so after taken it on and off a few times and a little thought and lookin in the garage for an idea i came up with this...i found a piece of door edge molding (black)...the ugly trim molding that goes on the edge of your door so you don't bang up against the car next to you...i worked the door edge molding around the rim of the cover and bam!...dam it looked good! put it back on and bam! it was flush! the trim around the third light is black too so it matched up! the cover looks like it's factory...i took some night pics...check out my photo gallery...thanx again to everyone involved.

Ahhhh... Free enterprise at it's finest. I don't know for sure but it sure looks like the same one. I would guess that as soon as Camelback Toyota placed an order for so many and probably talked with the manufacture about the group buy they too wanted to jump on the band wagon. Nothing like undercutting your customer to make a buck is there.
We went to this dealer when people on the site couldn't find this style that someone had posted. The dealer was kind enough to make us at TS a Group Buy deal. For me that means he deserves our business, and in the future he may offer other items to us at a discount where this other business can't offer us Toyota products. I'm all for free enterprise, but I also feel we need to support the guy that made us a special deal/offering first. For only a $1.06 difference I'll go with the guy that offered it to us first.

Don't get me wrong, I think the group buy thing is a good idea. I have just been a little frustrated that every time there is a group buy, I seem to be able to find the same item cheaper on line somewhere (e.g. Skid Row skidplate was avail through 4X4GroupBuy.com cheaper than the TS group buy).
Again, I am not trying to bag on anyone here, don't get me wrong. Just seems like we could do some more homework and have more negotiating power when arranging the group buys. It seems like the idea should be to leverage our buying power and make dealers/mfgs want to fight for our business.
Also, Steve G. at Carson has been VERY competitive with prices on his group buys and TS specials. He has also backed it up with great service and prompt shipping. I would look to get him more involved.

cidro: Great idea. I was thinking of a solution for the fit/finish as well.
As far as the GB, I'm happy. I don't think at the time this was started anyone knew who manufactured these covers, just a source (Camelback)....otherwise we could have tried to cut a deal with him (and saved a buck or two....maybe).
