Default COMPLETED GROUP BUY: SP Brake Rotors

TUNDRA SOLUTIONS GROUP BUY FOR SP ROTORS
sponsored by
RACESHOPPER.COM

Check out their store HERE

Edwin Robinson has offered us “Dealer” pricing on the SP rotors.

Here's the deal.... If we buy 20 sets of SP rotors AND 20 sets of either Hawk HPS pads, Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads OR SP Street Plus pads our Subscribing members can buy them from Raceshopper.com at the discounted "DEALER" prices plus actual shipping charges.

THE FINE PRINT UP FIRST....

WE MUST BUY 20 SETS OF ROTORS AND PADS in order to get the discounts. If we don't get the required amounts, then NO SALE...!!!

Due to the high # of rotors and pads being ordered at one time, there is a possibility that the turn around time from when we place our order to the time we receive the order could be, at worst case scenario, 2-4 weeks time.

Raceshopper will ship our orders out in the order they receive them AFTER they get the minimum orders of 20/20 sets. Your bank cards won't be charged 'til then..

Subscribing members will pay the discounted prices plus actual shipping.

Non-Subscribing members will be charged the retail prices with FREE shipping.

Default Ceramic Pads?

Do they offer a set of Ceramic Pads. Performance pads are nice, but dust is awful on stock. I would be all over it if they offered low dusting ceramic pads.

Are you guys buying the rotors to replace the drum brakes in the rear? Will it void warranty and will it adversely affect the braking performance as the brake system originally is a drum and not rotor? I dun really like the drums but I worry about installing rotors in a drum system.

Can you still "Machine" or "Turn" or "Resurface" these rotors when its time to do another brake job down the line? or do you have to get new rotors all the time?

Hey,

I don't think they carry the ceramic pads...... You can buy the PF ceramics at your local parts store. When Hawk makes their HPS pads for the '03-'05's they would be a good semi-metallic pad w/less dust.....

How 'bout buying the rotors here..... Great prices for a top set of rotors..... JB

Here's why they don't carry the ceramic pads......

Why don't you recommend Ceramic Brake Pads?
Let's start by saying that ceramic brake pads have a place in the automotive industry. They were designed to be a low-dust, noise-free brake pad. They came into popularity after the discontinued use of asbestos-based brake pads. At that time, semi-metallic pads exhibited problems with higher noise and dust levels.
That being said, I can tell you that Ceramic Brake Pads were NEVER designed to be a performance brake pad! Some companies have done a terrific job marketing their higher-priced, ceramic pads to the consumer as a performance pad. Ceramic brake pads typically have lower friction coefficients, and act as an insulator - raising rotor temperatures in cast-iron disc systems. When you have a vehicle that has persistent braking problems- the last thing you want to do is install components that have a LOWER friction coefficient and that RAISE effective operating temperatures! See our section on how this can cause ' Warped Rotors "
Premium-grade semi-metallic or hybrid pads are more effective for handling elevated temperatures and dissipating heat away from rotors. Most, if not all, semi-metallic pads have a degree of ceramic content ALREADY IN the brake pad.
Premium-grade, semi-metallic pads can offer LOW-DUST, NOISE-FREE Performance without sacrificing stopping power and increasing rotor temperatures!
Most organizations with fleet vehicles and other extreme-service applications already know what we're telling you: High-quality semi-metallic pads offer the best combination of stopping-power and extended-wear of any brake pad type on the marketplace today!

No... We are replacing the front rotors with better performing and lasting aftermarket rotors.....

No.

The TSB installs calipers for bigger pads. The orginal calipers with premium quality pads and premium quality rotors seems to be working well for many folks.

My 2003 SEQUOIA takes a heck of a lot of leg mucle to stop. I need rotors and pads that will improve the stopping power over what I have now. Will these help in that area.

Dchart, I don't know whats wrong with your brakes on the Sequoia, but rotors and pads may not be the problem. It could be your fluid, (or lack thereof) or air bubbles in the lines. But it could also be worn pads/rotors. This combonation is supposed to help us stop quicker and shorter. Please visit the company's website.
Tammithetundra, please read first post on this thread...Retail prices and Discount prices are both listed.

Default Speed Bleeder question

Hi all,

Ordered my rotors/pads today and asked the sales rep about the speed bleeders for an '03 Tundra. He wasn't sure about the size for the front disc and rear drum. 7mm front and 10mm rear? Does anyone know?

Thanks, Jeff

You need five bleeders. Three 7mm for the fronts and the rear proportioning valve. Two 10mm for the rear wheel cylinders. If I was buying only two sets of 2 bleeders each, I'd put one of the 7mm speedbleeders in the proportioning valve..it's the hardest to reach.
