Only reason I asked was because I have an Eclipse dealer locally to me. If your guy in NJ is not to far, I would definately make the trip out to him. Otherwise I'm going with my local dealer.

4 more are needed. And to the guy who said he was going to go with his local dealer, make sure that he is going to offer the same deal. Probably hard to negotiate down this much without buying a few of them.
I talked to my local dealer and the farthest down he would go was 2200 for the 5495. I have purchased many things through him and he always goes down to a very good price. He will even match ebay items if I show him what they sold for.
I might be going in on this deal, the funds don't agree with me yet but I am playing around to get it right...
Did anyone ever find out the answer to this question:
"Does the music take titles of songs and everything directly from the CD??? Can I burn a Data DVD of the music off of my computer and transfer that music directly to the Eclipse unit?"
Also, from the posts I read that system is easily expandable. Does that mean it will support additional monitors, such as monitor on the back of headrests?
What is the big difference between the 5435 and the 5495? The only difference I can see is the 5495 allows for a camera to be hooked into it. I'm sure there are more differences, I just don't know what they are.
Is the GPS Sensor built in the unit, or is it a separate piece with a wire connection to the HU which must be in the dash? If so, is it included in the price?
I am not familar with Eclipse products, as I am used to the more mainstream consumer electronic products such as Sony, Alpine, Pioneer, etc. Is Eclipse considered an above average product? The website seems limited.
I am interested in the unit but when spending this kind of money, I want to feel confident I would be getting a quality unit.

I think I can answer some of your questions:
Regarding the 5435:
The Navigation Brain, for lack of a better word, is within the HU. It requires a separate cable connection solely for the Navigation antenna. This unit does not come with a hard drive, therefore you must have a NAV DVD loaded in one of the DVD drives to access the Navigation features. 5495 has NAV data located on 10 gigs of the 30 gig hard drive in the HU. The 5435 and the 5495 allow for a Rear View camera to be hooked up to the unit. I also believe both units have Video out puts for addtional monitors. From what I have heard Eclipse products are near top of the line. They appear to be a niche company catering to high end products.
I have contacted the Eclipse Sales support at 310-327-2151 and asked them many of the same questions. They were very helpful and even left me a voicemail with the answer to a question that they could not answer over the phone.

I am sure Pistolpete can help out with some of these questions, but I will do my best where I can to get this Group Buy up and running. Big difference between the 5435 and 5495 is the 30 GB Hard Drive on the 5495. 10GB is used for navigation, the rest stores music. The Navigation on the Hard Drive means that it runs faster, as well as having less moving parts to run a dedicated Navigation disc.
Another upside to the 5495 is it allows you to play a DVD while using Navigation (if you ground the parking brake so the truck is fooled into thinking that you are stopped.) I make a 7 hour drive to and from California with at least one other person in the car, being able to listen to a movie as the driver makes it go unimaginably faster; and the passenger can watch the movie.
The GPS sensor is definitely included in the unit, don't know where though.
Eclipse makes what in my opinion is the best DVD/Navigation product on the market. It is a Double DIN system, which means that it doesnt have the flip screen of other units. The flip screen units are much more susceptible to breaking, as they open and close every time the unit powers on and off. They also look much better in my opinion.
I used this unit recently when I was in a car audio store, it is of the highest quality. Touch screen is very responsive, and the DVD/Navi is very quick as well. Many meber shere have used the AVN2494 (last years model) and love it. This unit has many improvements over last year's, and Eclipse has established itself in the Car Audio field as being one of the best and most reliable units in the its field... You should go for it.

yes!
from their press release
Music Juke automatically "rips" tracks from CDs in the effective ATRAC3 format and will hold up to 3,000 songs. In addition, 230thousand CDDB* feature is included to instantly provide track information on album and artist names. *CDBB is a trademark of Gracenote Co. go to www.gracenote.com for explanation of CDBB...over my head

I can appreciate the fact that we need to pay a subscription, but my main concern is the product being legite and having a warranty. I obviously dont own a Toyota but stumbled across this GD doing a search on AVNs.
If you can confirm a legit dealer with a shop, then I will gladly pay the subscription fee here and join the group deal immediately. Im just honestly finding it a bit uneasy not knowing who the dealer is within 4 pages of posts. I hope you understand but it is a large amount of money to lose out on.
