I've had LoJack in my last two new vehicles. There is only the initial fee to buy it, which includes a tech coming to install it. There is no monthy fee. If you ever want it tested in the future, the tech comes back and I think it's like a $60 service call. This is probably the single best thing you can buy. You never have to set it like an alarm, it never goes off until you report your car stolen, basically you forget it's there, ....until you need it. Then it works like a charm.

I have a sneaking suspicion that your stolen car ended up about 60 miles south of C-Bad...
