I checked shipping cost on our UPS machine at work and to ship Ground a 35 pound item from MN to their office in CA came to $20.61 I am not sure where they are getting the extra $20.00 from they quoted me.
did you account for the fact that it is not only 35lbs but also additional for oversized package???? just my guess

As mentioned in the poll thread, the dimensions of the package are 46x29x3" which does make it an oversized item. I've encountered this before based on weight. As soon as they upped the package to oversize the price went through the roof. If possible, I'd be curious if you could run this through your UPS calculator to see if it resolves the discrepency. Nancy told me that their shipping charges are direct from UPS (i.e. they don't add a "handling" charge on top of the shipping charge). I hope that this would resolve the issue. She also told me that shipping to NY would be $40 and that is the worst case scenario in terms of shipping prices.
If you can beat this price elsewhere though, go for it. You're obviously still getting the exact same product delivered to your door.

$32.00, Maybe they need to renegotiate there deal with UPS. I would have to think they ship more product UPS than we do.
agreed. I didn't complete my transaction because shipping is WAAAY too much. It's actually cheaper out-the-door (shipping+product) to get it elsewhere, even though the price for just the "bar" is good.
Well, I have the Tuff Country 5" lift. Do you have any idea if the adjustable endlinks have this amount of adjustment?
From the earlier post, about the website Warrior Products , on the bottom left in the parts catalog they sell universal 6" 8" 10" or 12" extensions. It would seem that we would need the post to post version and it would work. you would probably need the 8" or 10" bar.

They look awesome don't they. Stainless steel with polyuerthrane . When I saw these online a little while ago, I just had to share my findings . Haven't bought any myself yet but will soon.

Hey guys if you decide to go elsewhere (and you are more than entitled to get a better deal) but please don't post it here...this was Hobbes group buy which he spent alot of time and effort trying to organize to help everyone out and at the time was the best price he could find....I think its kinda a slap in the face to post in this thread you got it somewhere else OK??? So start a new thread if you want to let people know about it but try and refrain from posting here thanks for understanding.
Hobbes I will be ordering mine thru your group buy and talk with Nancy about the disconnects...thanks for your efforts!

Agreed. I could have saved a few bucks thru JCW but had I not read about the anti-sway bar here I wouldn't have even known what the heck it is and its benefits. That's the reason for my loyalty and going through the group buy. Lets support the members (and vendors) who work hard to make these things happen.

I thought the purpose of group buys were to provide great deals to contributing members... All you're doing here is ripping your members off.
Hellwig makes these units, so they would have the cheapest cost on them. Other vendors have to buy from Hellwig, and pay freight... So the manufacturer is charging more OTD than the major vendors and you don't want your members to know this?
I don't think the intent was to squash dialogue, I think it was meant to not dilute the hard work someone went through to set up the group buy. I do appreciate the concern. Another thread may be appropriate. Personally, I have thick skin, so if it were my GB, I would be glad for everyone regardless of wheter they participated in my GB or found a better deal elsewhere.
Personally, I make every effort to support local brick and mortar businesses. If they are willing to get within 10% or so of my best ineternet price, I usually support them. In this case, the GB was direct from Hellwig. I bought from somewhere else and saved on freight costs. I figure Hellwig gets some $$$ out of it either way.
