I was going to get a power slider, but I didnt want to spend the money because I'm going to sell the truck soon and get an 05'. I happened to smash my back window about a month ago, does anyone want to sell their OEM window for a decent price? I am in Northeast PA, the closer the better for shipping prices. Thanks
Bayou39: I have bad news. She didn't make it. They tried all they could to save her, she was a fighter to the end, but it was all for not. Services were held this afternoon in a BFI dumpster.
In other words, they busted the stock window taking it out. Sorry.
This is a good heads up to other slider buyers. Don't count on getting our old window back. The installer said they are VERY hard to get out without breaking them, and he is right. Turns out they are not only glued in, but bolted in as well. Looks like another case of Toyota over-engineering.
The good news is I got the window in and it looks AWESOME! Can't wait to get it wired up. I took off the CR Laurence stickers but salvaged them to put on my tool box The shop that installed my window turns out to be a CR Laurence retailer. When I told them the price I (we) paid, he couldn't believe it. Good to get the validation that we got a great price from a retailer!
So to the guys that are still on the fence, it is looking like a great deal on a great product. Get in on it before it is too late!
Ken,
thanks anyways, but if anyone does get there old window out without damaging or breaking it, I would be interested in it. Thanks
Man, sorry I couldnt help you out. I even told the installer there was an extra $20 in it for him if he didn't break the old window. He busted the HELL out of it! Sorry again. You still have 9 more tries (at least!)
Funny dealer story abouth the OEM switch. I did not want to wait for delivery if I at the link you guys provided. So I called my local dealer to see if they had it. They said no but could order for $75 not including the housing! Needless to say I orderd from Claremont. Thanks to Claremont Toyota saving me some cash.
Me too! I will never ever doubt again! Thanks!

Congratz to those who have gotten their slider.
Anyone have pics of the Finsished Product?
I can post a pic of the window, but I don't have it wired up yet. As far as the window, it looks a LOT like the stock window, minus the latch. I also took the "CR Laurence" decals off. No free advertising!
How long did it take to you guys to get the switch assy from Clairmont? I ordered mine last Friday or Saturday and haven't seen it yet
All of the orders with the exception one have been filled. There were some delays on the parts due to Toyota not having them in the wherehouse that fills our parts orders. Check your personal e-mail for traking information if you have placed an order on the switch and housing through us.
I just checked your post and WOW! Here is an update on my slider - it is installed as of today. I still have to wire mine too! I am a technician at Toyota. I had the glass installer in our shop remove and install the window. He was able to remove the window without breaking it. He told me you need to cut the lip off the bottom of the inside of the glass to remove it without breaking it. It is only there to help in the install. My box was delivered on the front porch and damaged on both ends. I called Rob over at CRL. He was very nice and great to deal with. He told me if I needed to exchange it there would be no problem. I opened it slowly, in case I needed to return it. One small scratch on the outside corner.
I can touch up that. When I gave it to the installer he questioned the installation. It has a shim on the top of the window with a taper starting from the outside to the center. We called Rob before we removed my orignal window. Rob had one of his own installation techs call us right back with the answers.
The tech went and opened one of thier own boxed windows so he would be sure of what we were unsure of. He explained the build up is there so the window does not get sucked in too much and cause the window frame to bend and then the glass would bind. I looks great! I hope to install the motor this weekend. I want to change the angle of my rear bench seat and add installation noise foam on the back wall. My switch is on back order. I ordered it directly through our parts department. The installer only charged me $60.00. Sweet deal. When I told him how much we paid for the window he nearly fell over
Special note: The factory Toyota sliding window only came in the T-3 model.
Rick
Hey guys, we have 29 members signed up for this buy and only 10 paid orders. What's up? I am hoping we can make this a worthwhile GB for Rob so if we hit him up again he will know we are serious with our number. Do you guys all work for FEMA or something? What's with lagging on the payments?
