I apologize for not posting sooner but I'm out of town and haven't had computer access until now.
I talked with John and PP and he said he will indeed honor the 15% off price even with less orders. We still need 15 people in though. On my last count I had 13 people that contacted me and said they want in at the 15% price and 5 others said they wanted to wait for the 20% discount. So this should be doable.
To sweeten the deal he will also throw in a deal on JBA headers. 15% off Performance Products listed price if you purchase them with the unichip in this group buy, or 10% off if purchased without the unichip.
Our new end date is the 13th. I'm going to find out how exactly we pay John and get that information out here and we will get some orders processed.
And yes the Unichip is plug and play for the V8. I'm not positive about the V6 applications, but I believe they are. You can email John at Performance Products johnus@performanceproducts.com and ask any questions you might have for him.
Again the model #, applicatoin list and pricing is here

This chip is useless for anyone with a "2005" Sequoia and up (Sequoia's with the VVT) in my opinion. Just look at the charts, there is hardly any power increase at all and to top it off what ever you decide to put this chip in you MUST run SUPER GAS. You can not run regular gas with this chip. And with todays gas prices you just doubled your gas bill with this chip.
For people that have "2004" and older or non VVTi motors and want a little extra power and don't mind doubleing their gas bill I would say GO FOR IT!! But in my opinion this chip is not worth the money for people that have "2005" and up (VVTi) motors. Now if they found a way to get around the SPEED LIMITOR well then the chip would be worth the money even with no power increase. Just My opinion........Jerry
I sent John an email with my info (minus credit card #) yesterday. He wrote me back right away since I forgot to include my truck/mod info...just a reminder.
The Unichip does not always require premium fuel. It has an a-b switch with the 'b' setting a bit more agressive which is where you'll need premium. The 'a' setting is designed to let you run regular unleaded.
As far as mileage, since the chip leans out the air:fuel ratio, you'll actually get better mileage as I've seen posted by several members in some of the older Unichip threads. Of course that's assuming your driving habits remain the same after the new found power.
I'd have to agree that the vvti motors already do most of what the chip does for the pre '05's. There are some gains, but they're minimal making the cost per hp/torque a bit high. Pretty similar to putting headers on - some gains, but not as much as the non-vvti motors. It would seem they're already getting the most bang for the buck as far as normal aspiration goes.

Well on their web site it looks like the Flux adds $300. But that is also listed under the S/C only area. I would email John for sure and ask.

I emailed Perf. Prod. because I still want to know if the speed limiter can be removed with the Unichip. I know that it doesn't come that way, but can they tune it to remove the limiter? I want the gains, but I really want to be able to go above 100-ish if I want to.

Some of the Unichips in the original group buy had the speed limiter removed. Mine happens to be one of them. It can be identified by the the presence of couple of extra wires on the harness. I've got an earlier Tundra and the harness is different than on yours. I believe they are no longer offering them that way due to liability reasons. You might try sending a PM to user VernDog. He could probably give you a better answer since he has an '03 model. I know one of the guys who works at Unichip in Hillsboro, and I could probably find out from him if you can't get an answer any other way. PM me if you want to try that route.

Jerry where do you buy your gas? Because if you are buying premium at "double" the price of regular, you may want to go to a different gas station.
I have this problem with people who want to buy my supercharger kit and freak out at the need to use premium. The price difference between regular and premium for a full tank on a Tundra here in N.C. is UNDER $5.00
