Sorry for the late post but just came across these threads today. If not too late...May be interested but with fuel passing $3/gal, does anybody have empirical data on increase/decrease in fuel consumption?
I just talked to someone that knows how to modify the Uni-Chip to do away with the SPEED LIMITER. This is something that a local speedshop can do and he also sells Uni-Chip. He is going to call me back with some numbers and I will post them ASAP. Johnnny. I told him I had a "2005" Sequoia with VVTi. He said he will call me back with a price for the mod.

I am intrested in a Unichip but they are very expensive. what can you do to get a discount?
Send an email to John at Performance Products- johnus@performanceproducts.com Tell him you want in on the Uni Chip Group Buy through Tundra Solutions. He will give you all the information you need on getting a discount. You need to do it now before the group buy ends though.

Sorry I didn't get back with info sooner. To answer your question, No. You need to buy a unichip and it CAN be done threw the Unichip. They already know how to do it in "2004" and older V8 Sequoia/Tundra's. The speed limiter is in the transmission on them. I talked to the guys at Unichip and they say it can be done in the "2005" Sequoia as well but they need the truck for a day or two. They are not 100% sure but they think the speed limiter has something to do with the anti lock braking system and it need's to be bypassed using the Unichip. The guys at Unichip referred me to a local speed shop that can do the modification but I am not sure if I am going to do it yet because I want to get a "2008" Sequoia and I don't want to spend all that money and only have it for a year. So, I am looking into it a little more and I want to find out if once the modification is done if I can easily remove it and sell it when I get my "2008" Sequoia next year IF it can't be put in the "2008" Sequoia. If anyone wants more info like the name of the speed shop that Unichip gave me that can do the modification just send me a PM. Johnnny

As soon as I saw your post I called them. The device they have will work on ANY Toyota Year "2004" and older. I have a "2005" and in "2005" they no longer have the limiter in the transmission, it has something to do with the antilock brakeing system or something like that they said. Johnnny

Well I got my chip delivered today. I'm going to try to get it installed some time this week. I'll post my thoughts as soon as I get it installed.
Well, it got here, but Ernesto's not far behind, so I think I'll postpone the install for a bit. I've been through a couple of the other Unichip threads gathering map #'s and corresponding mods, but my chip doesn't seem to be coded like the chips in the previous group buy. Mine says "C Map#" and then there's a box with "11010305" inside. There's no "toy05h" (or similar) to be found anywhere on it.
Eric - what map does yours have?
