Yea, I took it off, mainly because I live in an apt and didn't want overspray on my neighbors white cars! I think it could be done by masking it off. May be hard to get the edges though. Removing it is a small bear, you have clips and tape to deal with... And if you want it back on, you gotta retape it, another small bear. You could probably remove it, patch up the holes and paint the patchwork. But, ... well, I guess I'm thinking Goldie Lox's housemates today.

Rattle can...hmmm I never thought about that. So you did your chrome strip yourself? I would love to get rid of that lower strip. Did you take it off then shoot it, or mask around it? I just took the "chrome" strips off the body moulding yesterday. I love the look of it all being blue now. Will get some pics to show. Only slight issue is at the ends there are small opening where the strip dies into the moulding. Not enough to make me change my mind though.

Touchup Paint? yes. I have used two different types.
One was the dealer supplied pen/brush, worked on smallll spots, needs to be shaked like 2 hours though, it's probably been on the shelf settling for 3 years.
The other was a spray can I had formulated by automotivetouchup.com, that stuff was a PERFECT match. I got a 16oz. rattle can of 8M6 for $19. I used it to spray color match my new grille and chrome bumper strip. I put 4 coats on each before the can died. website.

I have to have my wife read your comments azul. I keep telling her it has a purplish tint when the sun hits it. She says that it must be the drugs. (I think she's just color blind!) LOL

Yeah, when I had to describe the color to some friends before they saw it... I actually was saying it was kinda purplish-blue. I saw it in the evening time at the dealership. Although, when I went the next day to get it - true spectra blue in the bright hawaii sun!

lol Shawn, it's so true. "That's a beautiful color" or " that's a beautiful truck I love the color." Some people have told me they thought it was almost purple. Maybe at night, under some gas station flourescents. But in the sun, oh the blue mica looks soooo goooooood.
