Default New Swaybars from Hellwig - Need Beta Testers

Hellwig has developed a 1 1/4" FSB and an adjustable 1-1/8" RSB for the 2000-2006 Tundra models. Before releasing this product we would like to get some feedback on the design and installation. The rear sway bar is adjustable to allow the end user to tune the roll stiffness of the sway bar to the vehicle. It also includes adjustable end links to accommodate mild lifts and drops (+/- 2"). We are looking for an owner of a 2WD and a 4WD to install these products on their vehicle and provide feedback. Both kits are bolt-in kits with no drilling required. The sway bar kits will be provided free of charge and the tester will need to install them and provide feedback to us on the performance and install of the kit. We are looking to release these kits in July and need to have the kits installed/evaluated ASAP. If you are interested please PM me or call me at 559-734-7451 and ask for Dave. I will update this thread when we have allocated both kits.

I posted a DIY on how to install the New Rear Sway Bar in the 1 Gen Tundra Forum. I finished in the wee hours of the night last night so over the weekend I will be able to give you all actual road experience.

I should add that it works with the Firestone air bags that I have on my Tundra. This bar is attached towards the rear of the axle and the bags are on the front side of the axle.

It looks like a simple disco system could easily be added to this, that would allow the ends links to unclip and rotate up and be held in place by hardware bolted up on the frame. Similar to others system, like that for many Jeeps.

Default 3000 mile test drive

Just a 3000 mile update. I went on a road trip to Montana and back with the new Hellwig bar and it performed perfectly. It is amazing how little body roll I have on the flat onramps even with the camper on the back, in fact it is easy to forget it is back there. There was no squeaking and I did not have to adjust or tighten anything. I am so happy with the results and think it should be required for heavy campers just for safety.
