Hi, I have a 02 tundra trd 4x4 and I'm getting a strange screetching/rubbing sound like metal on metal sound from my front driver side wheel when I'm driving. It's seems to be rubbing when the wheel is rotating. It doesn't matter if I'm accelerating or braking, the screetching is there continuous. Kinda worried even though the car drives fine. I'm going to take a closer look when I can get a day off of work to look at it, but was wondering if anybody else might have an idea what the problem is and what can be done to fix it. Does anybody think it could be serious? What would you suspect? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Re: Help! Strange screeching/rubbing sound from wheel
brake pads need to be replaced.

Yeah, that'll probably be the first thing I look at, but
would the brake pads cause the screeching sound even when the brakes are not depressed because I get the sound when I'm accelerating and coasting too.
Re: Help! Strange screeching/rubbing sound from wheel
Could be rusted cups in the calipers not releasing causing brakes to rub rotors but i would do pads first and lube parts that need it when i changed pads! How many times have the pads been changed?
