Default ground force vs. tundra racing/SOS lowering kit

i'm new to the forum and would appreciate your advice. i recently got a 07 crewmax 2wd. i'm considering a lowering kit. i have been reading about ground force and tundra racing on this forum and others. i want a 2" front 4-5" rear drop. i want to maintain a stock ride as much as possible. i tow an approximately 6000# car hauler with a pretty heavy tongue weight( not sure how heavy). i do use a weight distributing hitch. any feedback would be appreciated especialy someone that tows with one of these kits. thanks for your help.

If you want the same or similar to stock ride I would recommend the McGhaughy's 2/4 kit with spindles not coils. I had a ground force kit and the ride after 4 months kept getting worse. One leaf pack failed after 3 months and they replaced or sent me new ones. So far I have removed all ground force componants except the shocks and now have a Belltech rear flip kit and DJM 3" front lower A arms. The ride for me is far superior to the ground force kit. The lowered coils I removed were 2" coils and they did not leave much travel in the front suspension so it would ride good but any large dips in the road would transfer rather quickly to the arms and into the truck. Towing however with a lowered truck may require the use of air bags to lift the rear with the added weight of the trailer. The replacement leaf packs from ground would sag to the bumps stops with me on the tail gate (260lbs) now the factory springs with the flip kit hold up better. Hope this helps.

thats what i needed to know about the towing capacity with ground force. when i called ground force they said i may or may not need air bags. if you could hit the bump stops sitting on the tailgate i would definately need them. i also don't want to hassle with broken springs. thanks for your help.

You know even with the flip kits that use the factory leaf packs will also require some help with heavy loads or trailers. The axle is closer to the frame in either case so any weight will cause an issue. Granted my factory leaf packs with the flip kit dont bottom out like before the travel isn't there for heavy loads. You may end up using some type of helper air spring any way. Good luck.
