Default Hellwig AntiSway Bar

First off let me say I love this site! I get a lot of info from reading posts. Everyone seems to love their Hellwig Swaybar and I think I will love it as well. I priced one on Summitt Racing but it says it is for 2000-2002 2wd (mine 4wd). Is there a difference between the 2wd and 4wd swaybars and if there is where is a good place to purchase one?

Thanks alot!

That's where I bought mine after I did some price comparison. It will fit both 4WD and 2WD. You'll notice a huge difference after installing it!

Thumbs up

It will fit...I have an 03 4wd and it fit just fine. Check my pics for help. I also got mine from Summitt. Best price I could find.
Good luck.

I just bought mine from Summit as well. I called Hellwig to make sure it was the correct sway bar and they said yes. Good luck, I love mine.

Thanks everyone. I didn't think there was a difference but didn't want to buy one then have to return it.

Doesn't installing an add-a-leaf to the rear leaf pack have the same effect as the rear sway-bar?? If you do use a sway bar in the rear, does it affect your articulation?? Anybody have info on that? Thanks

Adding the rear swaybar does affect your articulation. That's sort of how it works. If you're headed offroad you'll want to remove/disconnect it. Not sure if the AAL works the same as the swaybar.

The sway bar does not stiffen your ride when you pass over a bump what works both rear wheels evenly. An additional leaf will stiffen everything in the rear if you're heavy enough or the bump is big enough.

Default Saw Hellwig Anti Sway bar on Ebay...

Don't know if you purchased your sway bar yet. If not, you may want to check this out. May save you a few $'s.

Default downside to swaybar??

I'm thinking of purchasing the swaybar from hellwig but wanted to ask you guys a question first. Is there any downside to a swaybar? Can anyone give me reasons for taking theirs off? Thanks in advance.

The only downside that I can think of is if you offroad alot. The sway bar reduces the articulation in the rear end that you need to go off roading. You'll be high wheelin' one of your rear wheels when you get into the bumpy sections. I'm sure someone here may have already incorporated a quick disconnect system on their sway bar to go off roading. My $0.02.

What he said. You just won't be able to flex the rear end as much.

Ditto, and yes someone has figured out a disconnect. Theres some old threads on it here.

This is without a doubt the BEST mod I have done for the price.

The only "bad" thing I've come across is that I had to loosen the U-bolt nuts to change my rear shocks. JB
