lots of places sell end links. talk to hellwig and they should be able to get you some longer ones.

in regard to the RCD sway bar- they include a thicker FRONT sway bar incase nobody has answered that Q yet.

Is there anything I can spray on those sway bar mounting brackets to keep them from rusting?

Thanks in advance
I have the Cornfed with the 1.25" block in the rear and just installed my Hellwig, which by the way is SWEET! I didnt' have any problems with the increased distance, but I did have to use a ratchet type wood clamp to try to compress the stuff together close enough to get the lock nut started. Other than that it was a pretty easy install. If you follow the instructions available in the How-To section here, it'll give you some good pictures of how tight the lock nut needs to be and how much the rubber bushing start to bulge once it's tight enough.

Default Hellwig sway bar installation questions?

I've just ordered my Hellwig sway bar for my 05 Tundra DC that I'll pickup a week from now. Is the installation pretty easy? Does it come with all the hardware? Any tricks or advice prior to install. Thanks

You could always paint them with a good quality paint. The u-bolts might not slide onto the axle though if they were painted. Other than that you can periodically spray some wd-40 to keep off the rust.

When I asked if it would also fit the 2005 double-cab they suggested I call Hellwig (1-800-367-5480) and talk to their application folks. I took their advice and sure enough, the HEL-7641 also fits the 2005 double-cab.

My out-the-door price from Summit was $168.34, shipped to me in New Hampshire. It should be at my house in a week. I'll post another message once I get it installed and give a full report on the installation as well as the results.

Stay tuned...
Interesting... Hellwig told be the frame was different on my 05 DC and they hadn't yet made a determination if they needed to make changes. Guess I'll bolt mine from my 03 up .

On another note, my friend just got one for Xmas for his 99 K1500 Chevy. I love how they did the bar, it goes to the rear, Vs front and the brackets/links are a lot better then the ones they use on the Tundra. I was hoping they would be changing ours to like the new style for the K1500's, but if this one works that's fine.

Thumbs down

the install is fine, but make sure all the nuts are the proper ones. I had to go to the autoparts store because at least half the nuts were wrong. they were either the wrong size or the wrong thread.

Default installation

I just installed the Hellwig anti-sway bar on my 2000 Tundra and the installation went very easy.

Follow this link for a Mod of the Month to explain the process:
HOW-TO:Install a Hellwig Anti-Sway Bar on a '02 Toyota Tundra

Good luck, I think the Hellwig install really improved my truck!

I got all the correct hardware and the install took about 45 minutes by myself. In hindsight I could have saved myself half that time by assembling the endlinks to the bar first then attempting to install the bar to the truck. Also use Loc-tight (high strength) to keep those bolts from loosening up, just make sure you test fit the bar before locking down those bolts.

Lastly if you're having a problem getting the bushings on the end links where it attaches to the bar try screwing the bushing in like a nut and it'll compress enough to fit the locking metal nut easily.

Default Filthy kits

Am I the only one to notice that the parts that come in the kit are just filthy? In fact, the entire inside of my box is covered in grime and dirt. The saddle brackets and u-plates are all chipped up. I guess they just keep this stuff laying around, probably in some huge pile of parts out in the open. I'm now not at all surprised as to why some people get the wrong parts in their kits.

All the parts in my shipment were filthy too. I had to wash my hands after I took everything out of the box for inspection. Thankfully for me they got my order right and it went in without a hitch.

Does anyone have a picture of the TRD Anti-Sway bar off the truck? I would like to see the bar in it's entirety if I could just to compare.
