I got my Hellwig swaybar in the mail on Tuesday. After opening the box and reviewing the components by use of the instructions, realized that I have been shipped the wrong u-plates. WTF! So I called Hellwig and talked to a representative and he said that he would send out the correct u-plates yesterday. With any luck I should get them tommorrow.

Has anyone else had this problem with recieving the wrong u-plates.

Default Hellwig results

Well, I got the correct parts today and got done installing my Hellwig Swaybar about an hour ago. Wow! Nice results. I havent had to much time to test drive it but did go through the main streets by house. The truck handling is definitely better. But I did notice that even though the handling is better it is still a lifted Tundra . It will never handle like a little european sports car. But I was taking 90 degrees right turns at 50 and truck stayed with me, however you definitely could feel the backend started to slide out if you took the turn to hard. to all the people that recommended this product.

Thats great to hear! I'll probably order one in the next few weeks. It sounds like a necessary mod.

I've had the Hellwig bar on for about a week and have driven it on the highway and local streets. I definitely can say that I don't have to slow way down for turns anymore. The truck feels more responsive and doesn't lean way over in turns like it used to.

I think it would really speed things along if you got a friend to help you during installation, as it is a bit hard to handle underneath the truck with one hand while tightening bolts with the other. Like I said in an earlier post, I had to use a plastic bucket to hold it up while I tightend bolts, and bucket didn't respond very well when I needed the bar "just a little higher".

I will join everyone else who have this added to their Tundra and say this is worth it.

Default Hellwig sway bar

I see almost monthly posts on the sway bar and people buying it for the first time. Looks like this would be a good item to go for a group buy on again.
Just a thought any imput from you folks?

Default Final concluson

Took the truck out to run it through the paces. Wanted to know how the truck did on windy country roads and normal day driving. So I took the truck out to the Ortega 74. Those of you living in the Orange County area know where I am talking about. Before the drive was a handful, but now with the Hellwig antisway bar the once jaunty drive now seems like a Sunday drive. Test drive at 70mph at 8:00 PM felt very relaxing with the nice summer breeze. I give this product a . Thnks Guys

Default Hellwig Sway bar

Just had sway bar installed on 2wd Tundra AC and what a difference, I noticed the first turn I made. I also had the Bilstein shocks 6024,6025 before I installed the sway bar the shocks did make a little difference, but with both items is is GREAT!!!! Had INLAND WHEEL CENTER install the sway bars but their main product is WHEELS a lot of WHEELS all make for Trucks, SUV Cars and High end cars. www.inlandwheel.com

There was some posting (improperly it turned out) about a group buy a few days ago. Any more info on that?

I would have been interested but I went ahead and ordered one already. I'm hoping to install it this weekend.

Is the tremo 02 installation guide still the one to use?

Default Instructions?

Does anyone have a copy of the instruction that come with the sway bars? I bought a Hellwig Anti-Sway Bar off a fellow TS'er, but he had lost the original instructions.I checked out Tremo's How to, but it seem that those are tips additional to the instructions. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

You may have to gently bend the brake tubing away from the U-bolts that go over the axle housing. I put a couple of washers under the bolt to allow the brake tubing clamp to fit farther away from the housing. No contact with brake tubing is ever smart.

If one side fits the end links, and the other doesn't, jack up one rear wheel or the other until the fit is easy. Fishing the bolt through the frame on the driver's side is a challenge, but it can be done. Don't mash the end link bushings too much...just a slight bulge is good. I set the bar up on a box under the axle while I attached the U-bolts and saddles. I used a dab of moly brake grease on the bushings.

Anyone have the torque values for the bolts?

Ken
