I got my Hellwig sway bar installed today on my 05 Tundra DC. It really makes a difference in the handling. I also got my Bedrug installed and ordered a Snugtop Super Sport shell with a slider in the flip down window. It should be here in 3-4 weeks.
When my Tundra AC was new in '03 one of the first and as it turns out one of the best extras was the Helwig Anti-Sway Bar. The cornering ability for a truck is amazing. I regularly blow-off Chevy and Ford pickups ... you know, the wise guys who like to see how close they can tailgate you. On the freeway on-ramps it's no contest.
Have fun!

I put on the Hellwig Anti Sway bar today. I took it for a test drive and now I get tire chirps on those low speed ninety degree turns around corners. I guess it's the LSD that contributes to that.
Coming off the highway around the "clover leaf" is where this bar really shows that it is worth it and which is really the reason that I bought it. I used to get so much body roll I would have to slow way down and brace my left knee on the door to take corners like that. Now, I can keep my speed up on the corner, but now it almost feels like the tires are about to break loose and send the truck into a fishtail. I have to get used to it. That 05 F150 on my tailgate me could not keep up when I got to the turnoff.
Just a couple of things that I noticed about the Hellwig Anti Sway Bar while I was installing it. The Paint on the bar itself was very bumpy and rough. Do the Hellwig people let these rust outdoors before they paint them? Are they used? It surprised me that a brand new part would appear so rough.
Another thing I noticed is that the nuts were hard turning on all the parts except for the U Bolts. I don't know if that is intentional or not, but the bolt welded to the square piece of metal was very difficult to attach to the frame on the drivers side because of this.
Installing this by myself was a bit challenging. I had to recruit Mr. Bucket to hold up the bar while I attached it. It was a two hour job for me. And make sure that you have a 3/4 inch Deep socket. I didn't and could have used it for the U bolts. I had to get out the old box wrench.
Now that it is installed, I have a garbage bag grabber attached to my rear axle. I'll follow up and let you all know what I think of it in a few weeks. I will join the others on this forum and for now give the Hellwig Anti Say bar a thumbs up.

I cant wait to get mine.
Expected to arrive on Tuesday July 19.
If I get the same results everyone else is getting I'll be very impressed.
question:
Well did everyone get endlinks for their sway bar? As my truck is lifted and the endlinks that come with the sway bar will most likely be to short.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

you wont be disapointed i garranty it you need to see for yourself its my best mod youll feel it everytime you drive it, extension my truck has a 2 inch rear lift and the end links were no problem it could have been a 3 inch lift beyond that you mite need extensions iwould put it in and see

I got mine from Summit. Their shipping was outstanding. I ordered it on Friday afternoon and it was at my door on Monday. Summit is really on top of things.
After a day of driving with the bar installed, I have driven over some of the same roads and gone around the same turns that used to make my truck lean way over. I have to tell you, the truck now handles these corners flat. That alone makes it worth the price.
I inspected it this morning and it looks like one of the link bushings is squshing out. I'm not sure what is going on there. Hopefully I don't have to replace it. Even so that is probably a ten minute job.

I am surprised after being on the market for 4+ years, everyone still says the same on the finish. I swear they throw it in a tank of black oxide or graphite powder before shipping. Not sure I would call it paint. Some people paint or powdercoat (what I did for detail) them to clean them up because it sure does not arrive "clean". Thankfully, the "function" works very well, though the finish, as received, is sub-par.
As folks have said, it does make a difference on the Tundra. Cost effective mod with results!

With any luck I should have no problem then as I have only 1.5 inches of lift in the rear. Thanks for the help. I'll come back after a week of driving with an analysis.
