Default Rear Jack-Point w/ Hellwig?

Installed Hellwig last month and love it. I just realized though, while trying to rotate my tires, that I have essentially eliminated any possible jack point on my rear axle due to the Hellwig brackets taking up the available space. As most of you probably know, the owner's manual says the rear axle (right next to where your shocks are mounted) should be used when jacking up the rear of the Tundra.

Anyone else w/ this difficulty? Where do you set up your jack? Where else is strong enough to support the weight? I have a 3-ton hydraulic jack w/ a 4-inch diameter lift plate.

Middle of the axle is fine as a jack point. The part near the shock mounts are for jack stands.

thats interesting. im really glad you posted this. can you use like a 4x4 piece of wood at all to narrow the jacks contact patch?

I was thinking you could put a piece if wood between the threaded parts of the Hellwig mount. If so, I'd carry a piece at all times

i would need to see a pic of a hellwig again, but im thinking maybe cutting a piece of wood to go between the jack pad and the axle, to somehow get around the swaybar. maybe hollow a groove out or something

Do Not use any part of the Helwig bar to jack up your truck. It's not strong enough. Just stick the jack under the pumpkin with some wood blocks and up it goes.
