Handling ImprovementsTechnical discussions regarding sport suspensions, performance sway bars, shock absorbers, lowering kits and handling improvement systems.
This is a discussion thread titled "Sway Bars", within the Handling Improvements forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
This may have been beat to death but as a newbie I have to ask.
Is Helwig the only show in town for Swaybars on a Tundra?
I see that Hotchkis has it listed no delivery date shown. No year coverage shown. Hotchkis would be my preference.
I might call them tomorrow to get the story.

Just keep it easy and eliminate the "what-if" factor and go with the establishment on this one.
Although I do not have one yet, the Hellwig is highly recommended and admired by many. If you keep an eye out, or get enough people who haven't bought one yet, you might get a group buy for one at a discount. I've missed some of the group buys for the Hellwig.
Honestly, why wait for something that may not even be released? There are also Addco sway bars available through Performance Products, but I haven't heard much if anything for them. Stick with the Hellwig, and you won't be sorry. If you don't believe me do a search for Hellwig and read all of the positive comments everyone has to say about it.

I completely agree with My03Tundra on this one. I bought my Hellwig after reading all of the rave reviews on this site about it. And I must agree it changed the way my truck handled a lot! The drive felt tighter and I felt much more confident around fast corners.
The Hellwig may not be fancy, and it doesn't look very smooth once you see it, but it does it's job and it does it very very well!! The parts are solid and I think the 160 bucks I paid for it was one heck of a deal for the performance I get from it.
And about the other brand that might be making another sway bar for a Tundra..........how could it be any different than the Hellwig?! It'll probably look the same anyway.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

My Helwig is in the mail!! Does anyone know why the photos from Summit and JC Whitney are completely different? I went with the Summit one cause it looks like the photos I've seen here, but I did like the look of the other one with less curves.

If you look at the JCW picture, it's below an F150... so I would assume they're showing you an F150 sway bar. Many companies do this. They use a more generic picture. ALWAYS read the description, and go off the description and not the picture. Shopping a lot on ebay has taught me this
For what it's worth, I bought the Hellwig from JCW back in July/August when they group buy was going on ($159 shipped) and it is hands-down the best value performance mod I have EVER done. Best bang for the buck.
For anyone wondering whether or not to get it, you must! It's definitely worth it.
