Default TRD sway bar

Got the sway bar in trd red fromsparks toyota. Very good welds, very heavy guage, all hardware and instructions. I remember the helwig dramatically improved my 02 so hope this will be the same. Wasent cheap about 250, but will look alot better than the black helwig.

I think the swaybar looks pretty cool but I am not sure why I would want one on my truck. Can you convince me? How will it affect handling on/off road?

Thanks.

I just installed mine yesterday and can tell a big difference. The truck corners so much better than before.

The sway bar helps prevent body roll when taking corners by keeping the rear axle parallel to the frame. I would not suggest one if you do serious offroading but they work great for trucks that spend most of their time on the road.

if you can not tell the diff, check your elevators, it let's you know in turns, towing, crosswinds, switchbacks, bumper roads. you ask why they need them on trucks, the center of gravity is much higher on a truck, are you getting the picture now?

If anyone has some good photos of the install and wants to send them to me (along with a short explanation of your installation process), I'd like to put it up on TundraHeadquarters.com.

Of course, whomever sends me info will receive the fame and success that comes along with being featured on my site...or something like that!

I don't know about the Truxxx kit. Here's some better pics, maybe you can tell from them. Let me know if any other angles would help.

benefits of swaybar; better cornering, crosswind stability, better stability under load, better control when avasive actions are needed.

I installed mine today. The u clamps are closer to the center of the axle on mine. Probably just on the outer edge of the diamond pattern on the axle.

I drove it 2 miles and was grinnin ear to ear. Best $213 I ever spent on this truck. 100% better than Helwig.
Can't wait to get into some corners this weekend

I've been thinking of getting the trd sway bar since i saw it on a thread here, and after reading this i am inching closer and closer to picking one up. my question is how hard is it to install. any special tools that i may need? i'm mechanically inclined, but i am also rather lazy.

Sway bar is easy to install even for those of us that are somewhat "mechanically challenged". You'll need a torque wrench.

The handling is much better, however I have noticed some front end push. After putting about 1500 miles with the sway bar on, I removed it for about 100 miles and reinstalled.......the ride is much firmer with the sway bar on.
