I was on Tavarua from May 3rd to the 11th. Check my photos for some pictures of one of the small days. The waves were playful at Cloudbreak for a few days , then the $#!T hit the fan. Cloudbreak was hitting at around 10-15ft Hawaiian and a few Surfers went out and had a blast. From Northern Cali there were Alister Craft, Vince Broglio, and Curt Fry. Representing from the 808 State was Alika Winter on his Longboard. The waves were a little hard to get into so Alik's had his pick of whatever he wanted. I opted to video from the boat. After the sesh I was able to surf Restaurants at about 4-6ft Hawaiian. If you ever have the chance to stay at Tavarua Island Surf Resort you will not be disappointed. Excellent food, world class waves and happy Fijians will make this a trip to remember.

I do have some video footage if anyone knows where I can host it.

Thats a really purdy break. Over on the east coast we get horrible waves

(least where I am).

Damn, those are some good size waves. Is it hard getting out? When it gets big here in So. Cal it is frequently a real chore just getting out. Then when you get out you are too scared to try paddling for a wave for fear of getting pounded (I am anyway). Best wave I ever caught was around 8'. It was a big day but there was a nice interval between sets and they weren't the usual close out beach breaks waves we get here in North County San Diego.

Man- I gotta get down there ASAP! A few of my buds have been and the stories are always the same- good times & insane waves. My wife would go stir crazy tho on that lil 1 mile island tho

a surfer artist named Drew Brophy? I just saw an exhibit of his a coupla weeks ago. Very cool board art. He used to design the boards for Lost. More recently he's done some stuff for the Hardrock Cafe in Las Vegas. A Rolling Stones and a Jimi Hendrix motifed pair of longboards.

I'm not a surfer, but I saw his stuff and thought it was very cool.

Drew Brophy has a killer web site with some of the coolest board art out there. I think a lot of the Lost artists have a background in comic books. I went to an ASR(Action Sports Retailers) Trade Show in Long Beach and one of the Artists was explaining what he was doing and the process was similar to that of comics.
