Default 4.7 with borla exhaust questions??

Howzit everbody,

Just picked up a used 04 tundra, I want some exhaust and have been thinking about getting the borla, does anyone here have a 1 gen with that exhaust?

I want some rumble! not too loud, and no drone is this possible? also I was just thinking its going to be a single out system DI, single out like the stock set up any thoughts on this this?

My friend has it on their '06. Don't remember how many outlets, but it was a nice low rumble, but not too obnoxious. Not sure about drone though...

imho, the borlas do tend to drone a bit and resonate inside, more so at certain rpms. my friend has one on his 06, and a neighbor has one on his first gen and they both resonate quite a bit on the inside (extended cabs). on the outside, it's not much louder than stock, but for some reason, on the inside it's quite noticeable.

note - they do not have the full cat-back system, they have a universal borla in place of the stock muffler, and are running slightly larger tubing from the cat back, exiting at the stock location.

I have an '04 Tundra with Borla, DI/DO, with stainless pipes and tips. It looks good and sounds great,.. until you try to listen to your stereo. But if you're upgrading to a new system, you may as well go for the Dual out look.

Right on guys for your replys! I got it installed yesterday at ESH and very HAPPY with it customer service is top notch there I highly recomend them! As for the sound, seems to be on the quiet side wich is more of my taste nowadays lol and for drone is very soft for now, I don't expect it to get anoying . Oh I just got the muffler and had them put a 3 inch tail pipe.

glad to hear you are happy with it. i would have suggested ESH for the install. not the cheapest, but they've never done me wrong in over 10 years and all the cars/trucks i've had.

they stand by their work and take care of their customers - if you have any problems down the road, they will take care of them for you.

if you don't mind my asking, which shop did you go to?
