Is this a career move or school? I moved to San Jose for school but things didn't work out. No matter how much I tried(I could've tried harder ) I couldn't stay away from Hawaii. I surf so that was a major part of my decision to move back.
This post right here reminds me of why I love Hawaii so much.
Not exactly a career move but I may stay on the mainland for a while. Im on a full ride to get my Ph.d from CSU so I couldnt pass up the offer. Id like to go home as the whole family is there but I must say that colorado isnt a bad place to be. Definately better than california in my opinion. People out here are hick but are really nice and dont care what color skin you are and treat you the same whether rich or poor. On another note, My haole friends call my truck a rice truck but thats cool and kinda funny, I tell them shoyu burner not a rice truck. I tease them cause they always gotta fix something on their domestics. Im especially tired of fixin heeps. Man those things break all the time! Most well I should say alot of people drive diesels out here cause they haul heavy loads and horse trailers, cattle trailers etc. Some are even converting to biodiesel. Anyhow, YES, I do miss home but theres some cool stuff out here that Id like to do and see before returning home for good. Speaking of seeing stuff, a bunch of my friends and I went camping a week or so ago to just hang out and we saw tons of elk and a moose about 100 yards from the site. Pretty cool to see. We go to L&L in denver so its all good!
That kinda sounds like my story. UNC gave me a full ride to complete my BA. Greeley wasn't a bad place either. I had an instructor in H.S. tell me to watch out for discrimination when I moved in 1998. I never came across any of the S#!T. Colorado was awsome, and I miss it (especially Ft. Collins and Fly-fishing the Cache la Pouder). Now, I am working on my masters at Northern Arizona. Flagstaff is not such a bad place, and the rest of the state isn't bad either. I know someday I will make it back to home, but I just cant yet.
Hey wassup. Some friends and I went up the poudre and on old flowers road after the small snow storm. Lots a mud but it was still fun getting out. Hey since you were here in CO do you have any experiences with the vast 4x4 shops here? Poison spyder, front range offroad, off road solutions? Im curious to find any local who had work done at any of the shops. Theres quite a few small local shops like trial ridge customs formerly rocky mountain fab and XE extreme engineering. Any experience?
Most of my off-road service type stuff took place in a UNC parking lot. I cant remember who exactly was in Ft. Collins, but there used to be great shop a little shop near a discount tire shop. Other than that, Off Road Solutions who be the people I'd work with. I only say that due to my old CO ground pounding accomplice "devinsixtyseven" spoke very highly of them.
There was a guy in greeley on 8th ave (closer to Evans, Co.) who seemed inept when it comes to Toyotas, I'd avoid them. Id talk to the off-road forum moderator "devinsixtyseven" for info on the colorado shops. There are many others here on TS who know the colorado shops too, but I don't really know them personally.

PS, There used to be some forest service roads that were good to do on a bone stock tundra (4x4 required) that I used to run accessable from the town of Rustic on the Pouder Hwy (Colo. 14). Also you could get to some nice trails from (Larimer Co. #74E). This is from memory, so Id suggest you get a Roosevelt and Arapaho F.S. Map.
Check out the "Amado & Deepstealth's Colorado Off-Road Thread" some where in the bowels of the Off road forum-- we haven't added to this in a long time.
Howzit going guys! Wow Colorado sounds great! Never been there myself. I wish we had the variety of off road shops that you guys have on the mainland. I'm kinda tired of only having Maui Offroad and 4Wheel Parts. The only other places are Checker Auto Parts, NAPA and Rons Performance, oh yeah Sears and Walmart are a couple of hot ones...not exactly offroad heaven. There's a bunch of places that cater to import cars like Hondas though. But no other TRUE off road shops. PRetty SAD! Ah...just venting!

ps - would love to take on some of those wide open desert type places in Arizona!

Ya some cool stuff out here. But actually theres as a 4x4 shop in waipahu area that used to be called T&G something or other. If I remember correctly T stood for Tommy and the guy used to work for 4x4 parts I believe then started his own business. I had some custom welding work done for my malibu by him in 2000 when he was just starting out.. Hes an upfront guy when I talked to him and he can do some sick sh-t. I think he has a website now and theres a huge BLACK extended cab chevy on the site that he did. That same truck was being worked on in his shop when I had him weld some stuff for me. It has dynatrac 60s and runs on 44s. SOme other guys from the eastside go to him for work as hes good and builds stuff not only for show but for use. anyhow just some info you may want to consider before going to the local wally world shops.
