2006 Highlander Hybrid Auto AC

I have a 2006 highlander hybrid (non-limited) with the manual a/c console. I bought a used auto a/c console (2004) and installed it. I got the info display (avg mpg), the vent controls, heat, and recirculation. What doesn't work is the fan speed control and also the a/c. Any ideas why only those 2 aren't working? Is there something that needs to be done with the ECU?
