I pikced up some Geolandar GS01s from Yokohama in the OEM 16 inch size. I like them. They seem a bit softer but lots of grip. I have not tried out in inclement weather though.

Just to add to this thread for future searches - I installed the Yokohama Geolander HT-S G051 (225/70R-16) right around Thanksgiving. The OEM tires (27k miles - 2005 HL) had a small amount of thread (5%?) left and I made a point to compare highway cabin sound levels (old vs new). Am very please with the Yoko's - they do have a much more aggressive thread pattern but the noise levels were only slightly elevated. Very acceptable.

Handling is very good in the rain and and just got a chance to test them out on snowy and slussy roads (tires now have about 1500 miles - so broken in a bit). Worked great in the snow too -- I had poor turning control with the OEM tires last winter with 16k miles or so, this was not the case with the Yoko's.

I can't say what kind of thread life I'll get but I've had Yoko's on another SUV and was pleased with them there. I'm a happy camper...
