Default 04 Highlander driver power window problem

First I would like to say hey to everyone.

I have an 04 Highlander Limited. The drivers side window when going up stops and goes back down. I do hear a click just before it goes down though. I was thinking a limit switch or something may be binding causing it to roll down for saftey

I had it to the dealer several times they first said the alarm, (I have the alarm that rolls up the front windows) Then they said a switch was bad. They replaced ( it cost $418.00 Love that extended) That did not fix the problem. Has anyone heard of this?

Thanks for any help. I am planning to bring it back yet again for this.

Rob

After the dealer graciously took the $418 job did they Initialize the power window system. Because, I feel that was the problem in the first place.
There is a procedure for this.

Also , if the window or window regulator was replaced at some point, a slightly different procedure is done for Initialization Procedure. And the same sympton as yu describe would result.

The dealer failed yu. And although your extended warranty picked up the tab(deductible or not), they are not knowledge worthy. But don't fret, yu are not alone. I would not have accepted the car back if the fix was improper. It would have stayed with the dealer and I would have left in a Rental after a short talk with the GM. Does your Extended warranty include a rental service provision. Some dealers will offer a rental after a failed attempt at a repair. And, once they give yu a rental on the house as courtesy, they have every incentive to repair your car fast. Because they are eating a rental every day that passes.

The did reinitialize the window. They even had the alarm guy there.

I am going to bring it back this week, The dealers service center has been great with the exception of this one problem. They did spend time with the truck.

I was just hoping someone else had the problem to help them get this fixed.

Thanks your your reply.

I already spoke to the service people at my dealer. The truck will be going in for the 50,000 service and they said they will go over it.

I talked to a service tech for a while about it. There are only 3 parts in it and the other thing they said they will check is if it is binding at all.

I figure it will be going in, in a month or two. I will let everyone know how this turns out.

The dealer has been great so far.

When I first picked it up I had the problem of the NAV getting lost lol (drove them nuts) They finally had a programmer and the engineer who helped design the system come out to look it over, turned out when they put the alarm in (with remote start) in they had the antenna too close to the NAV antenna.

Needless to sat they fired the alarm guy they had and ate the 5 hours these guys were out to fix it.

Just to keep you up dated.

It has not gone in yet for the 50,000 check up.

I do not drive much and have another 2500 miles to go.
