Default Overflow hose going to overflow bottle

There is a related thread here smewhere. The rubber hose from the radiator cap over to the overflow bottle on my 2004 HL is compltely unsupported. Wonder how Toyota thinks it will hold up over time. I may replace the line and run it around the side so it gets some support.
Is this how Toy is beating GM? Cost cuts like this?

Default Re: Overflow hose going to overflow bottle

Coolant leak where hose meets radiator?

Yes this coolant overflow is very short. Of course this saves money. It is just efficient to use the least amount of anything that is mass produced.

I also have found my reservior cap popped off several times...because of this tension and not enough slack.

Yu can see how the prop rod sits on it and touches. Toyota even padded/wrapped that area of the Tube.

Your fix is creative and will work. Just make sure the reservoir cap does not get any undue force, it could just pop off.

Great point made.
