Does anybody know what the wattage rating is for the JBL stereo?

I would guess it's around 100~150 watt range.

By comparison to other amped aftermarket systems I've owned and installed, if I had to guess... and after having this JBL system for a while now, I would say it is probably around 120w RMS/4 speakers/2 tweeters. Not 120 each speaker.

It is on the light side and not too clean either...not enough separation. Too much uncontrolled low freqs... But this is definitely above par compared to a standard OE setup in my opinion. Mids and Highs suffer though.

    My thoughts.

The JBL is a 9 speaker system including a Subwoofer in "7 locations". The standard system is only 6 speakers and no Subwoofer.

Regardless, it sounds better than my RX300 system. It has 6 speakers plus a Subwoofer. The JBL in the Highlander has better Bass. Being able to play MP3's is fantastic.
