Default Anyone with Scan Gauge II?

Just curious if anyone has this hooked up and where they mount it.

I got mine above the dash on the left. looking for better clips to hold the wire. I had small ones with double stick tape but because of the heat they keep popping off.

here are the picts:

Hi
Mounted it just where my right hand can hit the buttons - the programmable display color lets me match the radio nearby at night. On an 08 the cable tucks in pretty well except where it comes from just below the windshield to the SG. Priuschat.com forum where SG's are very popular has lots of mounting variations. I like it better on the Highlander as a trip/mileage meter more than I did on the Prius (traded in on the H/L) where I used it more for coolant temp and tach. The priuschat store has great prices on SG too BTW - search there for a $10 off code in addition.

ic, the only other choice was possibly by the rear mirror.
I saw somewhere they sell a kit for it. I like the unit alot to. I use it for mpg and the trip computer. It beats having 2 gauge pods on a pillar and steering column. I had the set up back in the day with my honda hatch. As you get older it seems you have to put the toys away when you have a family. Thanx for the input.

I mounted my SGII on top of my steering column.

I used heavy duty velcro type fastener. The kind yu use with EasyPass(for tolls mounted to windshield). This stuff is strong. It will not fall off. Even in the heat. Home Depot has this. I really doesn't resemble Velcro but has two sides that have intrlocking spikes. But grips way stronger than Velcro.
I like the guage close and in front of me. And it never blocks my other guages. The wire runs between the dash and column cover bundled up underneath the dash and wire tied away from the brake pedal linkage.
I chose to use the rear plug ,not the side plug on the SGII. None of my OBD cable is visible. i always get compliments and questions from dealer Techs.

I experimented with many locations and always found that this location works for me. At least for my 06 HL.

I has spoken to the company and they said that yu can extend the cable by using CAT 5 ethernet cable with appropriate male and female ends .

The OBDII cable is just ethernet wire. I had experimented and made extension cabling from some spare CAT 5 I had lying around.

EZPAss Velcro, Thats perfect, I never thought of that.
I too thought about the ethernet cable but i was worried i might mess something up with the Scan Gauge. Thanks for the idea. will pick some at the the "local speed shop" umm I mean Home Depot.

It's really cool - it plugs into the OBD diagnostics port and gives you 4 readouts of your choice - in real time.

This scan tool has really spoiled me and I would allways need to have one.

It is no match for my expensive one, but it is always there with yu when yu drive. It does alot more than advertised as well. Yu can get creative with it and also will give yu codes while driving with engine parameters when the code came up. Also the best Trip Computer going. Better yhan my OE one. And the readings match tto the OE Trip display as well. So it is very accurate.

A very good company, made in US. So many friends and others liked mine so much that they got one too. Yu have to really see it work to fall in love with it.

Found this link AD. here on TS.

MGT Motorsports Shopping Cart

http://www.mgtmotorsports.com/images...structions.pdf

If yu are looking to purchase both ScanGauge II and the MGT Blend Mount, they sell both as a set for only $179. That's a bargain.
(includes the Latest ScanGuage II with Extra Displays)

Looks really good. I just may check this out. Price is right. Maybe even get a TS discount as well.
Yu get alot for $39. Quality parts and all.

Good option for the ScanGauge II.

You think that the scan gauge II can read the speed for the new tundra, after the limiter of 115mph?

It will read whatever the drivetrains limited speed is. (112 MPH for my HL.)
It will not unlock the drivetrain's preset Max MPH.

I tried it on my HL. Although a bit crazy at this speed, 112 MPH was the peak speed cutoff. It stays at 112... It will not go a bit higher. Toyota limits it.
Same will be for the Tundra.

I've read some where for the 2002 highlander the cutoff was 105 but on the Scan gauage registered 110, any faster I should have bought a sports car.

40-07 HL's with 3.3 V6 top out at 112MPH. It is preset and electronically governed. It is speed limited like most vehicles.

The ScangaugeII will read higher if decending a grade and actually coasting faster than 112. But the HL will not produce more than 112 on its own.

BTW, the spedo on the HL like other vehicles is not accurate at all readings of the spedo. The Scanguage is much more accurate.

Where is the OBDII plug located on a 08 tundra? Just wondering if I need to get the extra length of cable or not.
