Default Rear brakes & ABS

2003 Highlander
I have had numerous rear brake problems.
Just diagnosed the RR rear sensor ring (which is attached to rear axle) is cracked. Dealer price is $ 700 for part alone
Already replaced under warranty once.
Sounds to me like a defective part.
I have had to service rear brakes at least once a year as calipers seize.

Anyone else had this problem ?

I have never seen this before. Has the dealer seen this before. This may be an 01-03 issue. This Speed Sensor Cog should not be a wearable part.

If this is what yu are describing. There may be environmental factors involved.Weather etc. Seizing rear brake calipers...both sides???

May be other factors contributing to this. ABS unit etc. collapsing brake lines.. diffrential valve bad?? EBD controller NG.

Thanks for your help and yes seizing problems have occurred at different times on both sides. I am told this is a common problem in our part of the country. Lots of salt used on major highways which we travel a lot.
Too bad the Toyota dealership I deal with is not as helpful.
I will pass this info onto the independent garage I deal with.

Yes, Salt................the single worst enemy for brakes.

Got to flush brakes and undercarriage with clean water very often, but hard to do in winter freezing months.
