This is a discussion thread titled "08 Sport - Seat Heater ?", within the Highlander forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
Morning, all. Wife just brought home an '08 Sport and we were wondering if the seats/dash are pre-wired for heaters. I know we'll have to get the actual heating pads/elements and switches. We just really need to know if there's a whole lot of wiring to run, or if we can just hook up to existing (but unused) wiring.

08 Highlander Sport - Black - mods include whatever the wife will let me do to her brand new baby, which at this point is exactly nothing.
First question to answer is if the 08 Sport was available with Heated seats as an option or was it exclusive to a Limited.
I don't have this info.
But maybe yu have a current 08 HL brochure to check??
This is a start.
Then check under seat harnesses. Then remove the console panel where the swtches would be located. Yu just may find harness plugs there .
This is the case for the 1st gen HL's.

The Sport does come with heated seats provided you get the leather package.
Yes, I understand that. However, that was not my question. I wanted to know if the seats were "pre-wired" for the heaters. I know on the Tundras, many of the available options are pre-wired so that they may be added at a later date. I know Tundras and Highlanders are different vehicles, hence my question.
Again, I'll poke around this weekend if time permits and report my findings.

No, if you get factory leather, you WILL get heated seats.
See attached under HIGHLANDER SPORT second line.
I understand what yu are saying.
I posed the question to the author of this thread DrBundy...because it appears he wants to install seat heaters on a Sport HL that has Cloth seats. But, I assumed he had leather without the heaters!
It was not clear. Some people do install aftermarket heaters on cloth seats. Although not necessary.
It is possible he had aftermarket Leather seats installed by the dealer/without heaters?
