Question Another VSC Question

First of all, I am a new member, so I would like to say "HELLO" to everyone!!!
I have read many threads about the VSC light but I still don't have the answer that I'm looking for. I know it will come on if a vacuum hose comes off at the air filter. I can't find one that is off, so I'm sure that is not the problem.
I have a 2001 HL 4WD 6cyl. The VSC light is on but everything seems to be normal. I don't notice anything unusual with the vehicle. Is there anything else that can cause this light to be on?
Thanks for the help!! PM in SC

Go to Autozone and ask for a free OBD scan and return here with any Powertrain codes that yu get.

Sometimes a bad gas cap or loose one will get yu a VSC light. It could clear out after x amount of warm-up cycles.

Question...Yu only have one MIL on??? Just the VSC light?

It was both lights! Auto zone read the code as P1135. I replaced the B1/S1 O2 sensor. Had the lights reset, but the VSC came back on after about 10 min of driving. Is the vacuum line obvious or is it hidden and hard to find? I am not 100% sure but I believe that Auto Zone told me that the VSC light doesn't throw out a code! Thanks. PM

There is a small hose on the back of the air box. Its by the firewall thats hard to see. Did you try tugging on all the hoses? I had that hose slip a little after I change the air filter once but I also threw out an airbag malfunciton indicator also. It fixed the lights within a few miles after re-attaching it.

Which 02 sensor was actually replaced???

Was it the one nearest the Cat or the one nearest the engine manifold??? One is is considered a heated 02 and the other is not.

I replaced the O2 on the front manifold right at the cooling fan. Today the engine light came back on, I got another shop to scan it (this guy didn't know trouble is ongoing). He has one of the "top-of-the-line" Snap On Tools scanners, it clearly showed P1135 and B1/S1 malfunction. His scanner showed the codes on the VSC light too, but did not give an explanation. Had 4 codes, he said he thought it was the wheel sensors for the antilock brakes. I didn't write down the codes. He is gonna scan it again tomorrow.

Yu never stated which additional MIL light comes on with the VSC light!! Yu just said there were TWO in all.

Most Heated 02 sensors are usually located at the last Cat converter. Not at 1 of the two Banks. There should be three in all. but only one is heated . Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yu may have replaced the wrong o2 sensor to begin with. Just a thought.

If yu are getting a Trac+VSC+ Check engine MIL's this issue could be in a different area.(evap system) An expensive Scantol susch as a SnapOn will give yu some Toyota specific codes to work with.

FYI UPDATE: Went to the Toyota Dealship. The code that Auto Zone gave me was correct BUT the printout that I got from them showing where the bad O2 sensor was, WAS WRONG. Not in the front by the cooling fan, it was the one on the back side, near the firewall. Not the one after the Cat, the one before the Cat. It can be reached easy from underneath. I changed it lying on the driveway on my back. NOW the VSC light. It was a computer glitch. Toyota dealer reprogrammed the computer that controlls the VSC system. Lights are off. Wife is happy. Toyata dealer got $350 from her, they are happy too.
