Default p0500 vehicle speed sensor error

hello,


The check engine light came on the my 2002 highlder v6 and a friend of mine has a scanner and it came up with p0500 vehicle speed sensor error saying "malfunction". i checked a bunch of threads and it controls the speedometer. Does anyone know where its located and any fix ideas?

This one is for 2005 highlander but will give you an idea as what to look for. Btw, have you done the "hack" to operate navigation while vehicle is on the move? If I remember correctly that hack involved manipulaing the VSS pulse.
