Default Heater Problems

I have a 02 HL w/automatic climate control. I have noticed recently when I use the heater thru the dash vents; that only the drivers side vent near the door is the only one that gets hot. The further away from the Left vent the colder the air gets. The dealer says it is working correctly. I told them it isn't because my wife and I both use to warm up our hands in front of all the vents during the winter. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks!

Just a wild guess here - but from under the dash the way the air gets directed out of the various vents (ie., defroster, foot, mid-cabin, etc) is by electrically controlled doors. It's the same base system as used by the HL's with a manual controller. The auto-climate system just has a few more temperature sensors in the cabin that helps the system adjust the heat/cool level.

It would seem like one of the controller doors is sticking? I just don't know if the HL was designed with doors for both the driver and passengers sides? It might be designed that way but only fully used on the Lexas version? That would allow the driver and passenger to have differant settings. If that's the case and the passenger door isn't working right - this could be the issue.

When you adjust the climate system to just blow out of the footwell areas - is their heat on the passenger side?
