Does any one have the full story on TSB EG037-04 ref. various models o2 sensors? I've found the three page diagram locating all of the sensors but no specifics on what the issue is or what the remedy entails. thanks for any help you can offer.
Thanks for the links, I found both of those. I'm trying to find out if the O2 or A/F sensors are subject to replacement under the TSB. My wifes Highlander just kicked a P0155 code(bad A/F sensor) and the dealer wants $500 for the job. But if the TSB states a problem or extended coverage for these sensors I want to know before bending over and taking it.
I'm not sure of the TSB, but I can relate to your experience with one of my own. My fiancé's RAV4 kicked a code for a bad o2 sensor and I had the dealer service it under the 8yr/96k mile emissions warranty. More info here: P2238 on 2004 Rav4S

Well found out the TSB was simply informational only to help techs distinguish the A/F sensors from the O2s.
The A/F sensor in my wife's HL stripped out the innermost threads and trashed the manifold. Service rep. told my wife $600 for the manifold replacement. Luckily I'm friends with the service manager, so it ended up being just over $200. Would have liked free, but the car has almost 100K and looking at the sensor and threads in the manifold I doubt there was much that could be done to prevent the damage. The innermost threads looked "welded" from so many heat cycles over the years.
Maybe loosening and reapplying anti sieze should become PM routine to keep these expensive sensors from causing even more damage when they finally do quit.
