Default 2002 Highlander Radio Problem

Hello All,
I bought this radio off of ebay. It is a Toyota 6 cd player(P/N:86120-48130). http://cas07.businessflow.ms/3.9.6/m...3-5dde0905fbeb I want to replace my factory 1cd player. I have this one(86120-2B680). http://cas07.businessflow.ms/3.9.6/m...f-986ccdcb71b0 My question is. What type of adapter do I need to get this radio to work? Thanks

As we are not mind readers here...it would be more appropriate to give us ALL the details. (I won't even suggest what they are.)
Yu should know SOME details at this point since yu already purchased this head unit and... possibly went out on a limb doing it.

Otherwise yu will get NO-where with NO answers.
And forgive the pun...as I have not had my coffee yet!

Help is here only if yu can help yourself a little better.

Promise.

Well the new radio has a 20 Pin plug. And my old one has a 10pin and 6 pin plug. Pictured on the right. Sorry I do not what they are called.

Hint: Does this 6-disc Head even come from another 02 Highlander??? hopefully YES Does the face plate fit correctly into the center console??? Hopefully YES
Does this 6-d Head require The supplemental OE AMP. Hopefully NO
With the correct above answers... yu may have things work out.

I can tell yu that there are NO adapters available to change out one OE Head for another OE Head.
Either the existing OE DIN plugs will fit the new head or won't!

Now yu are talking a possible custom wiring job.$$$$$

Then yu Need the skits for this job at the very least.

I'm having my coffee now.

Yu need to know the Pinouts of the old as well as new head unit.

Not as simple as yu think. I don't know or need to know what yu paid for this 6-d head ...but that was the easy part of course. This could be a bear of a project.

Well I think I solved my problem. I need to buy this Amp P/N:86280-0C010 eBay Motors: 00-04 TOYOTA AMP AMPLIFIER 4RUNNER TUNDRA 20-pin analog (item 270329718428 end time Jan-22-09 19:16:10 PST)

Anyone out there agree or disagree with me? According to this site I do need this Amp. See here: Supraforums.com - Toyota Radio Information

Thanks..

Just one question. Is your Highlander a Limited or not? If not, then it did not came with the JBL speaker system. You just bought yourself a OEM headunit that was not made for your non-Limited HL.

I felt pretty certain that an AMP was required.

Good luck
