Default top radiator hose

hey guys, does anyone know why the top hose collapses after driviving the 2002 highlander? I thought it was a weak hose and replaced it and it still collapses after I've driven it. I found this forum while researching reasons for VSC,engine and trac control lights came on. found a hose behind filter box disconnected. reconnected and drove all day but the lights are still on.how long before they reset? thanks for any help, raking

Yu have some blockage or restriction in your coolant system. Check your Thermostat and radiator.

Is the tube from your radiator cap area to the overflow tank kinked or clogged?

Sounds like as the coolant cools it contracts creating a vaccuum that would normally be filled by sucking up resivoir coolant.

If you take the radiator cap off, does the hose pop back to normal shape?

Check engine lights on? Check (tighten) fuel cap, and the hose. May need to restart up to 10 times for code to clear. Otherwise take it in to an auto parts store, they will generally scan the code for free. Return to us with the code...

I would start with the Radiator cap. The 'jiggle' valve in the middle is probably stuch shut.

It's supposed to seal when there is pressure in the cooling system, but then open to allow coolant to flow back from the overflow tank when the vehicle cools and the coolant condenses. If it is stuck in the closed position, after cooling, the coolant condenses and the hoses collapse.
